multi tile creatures already?
nope
Uhh yeah, I think I won't be unleashing the HFS anytime soon.
Is that a normal demon? Or some modded thing? If the former, I will be scared of touching the candy, forever.
Most probably coming from the mod I installed, Legends of Forlorn realms (I usually prefer vanilla, but the new version is coming out soon anyway so I'm experimenting).
I want the update out so bad, but I don't like bugs. Goddamn game development in general.
They still fruitlessly try to path and not actually being able to makes it worse so indeed HOLY HELL HOW
in all seriousness, I have no idea. i don't build many huge things, or any pump stacks.
i feel like streaming df if anyone wants to watch im gunna stream and watch some house and play. [editline]26th August 2011[/editline] i will add the link soon
I like how the ground in my arena is filled with a brown slurry, which contains the blood and vomit of about a hundred trolls and goblins. [editline]27th August 2011[/editline] Also throwing defenseless goblins into a pit with wardogs in it is extremely cruel and you should totally do it.
the goblins just brought their leader to help with a siege. he's just a master, nothing else. not even wearing any armour. [editline] [/editline] the entrance to my fortress is now caked in goblin and troll blood and vomit, the landscape is peppered with gore and the corpses of the assailants and my fortress's noble, valiant rhino defence force, their thick hides pierced by the goblin's vile arrows. the siege was routed, their leader escaping into the mountains. on a less grimdark note, I've finally gotten the requirements to be made the capital! [editline] [/editline] decided to take a quick break from that fortress to perform some !!science!! testing to see if Slade is good. my first tests showed that even the skin of a rabbit would cause most blows to 'glance away' implying that Slade is inferior to rabbit skin as a material. a quick change of the raws for Slade (adding a molar mass) rectified this error, but did not produce the results desired. molar mass was at 100 times that of platinum. decided to make Slade 1000x more dense, corrected molar mass to this effect. cartoonishly heavy 'Sladeite' metal functioned as intended.
I did an experiment to see if the my 19 dwarves could survive 5 years in a vault. Everything went fine until 2 years later when some cave crocodiles came from the caverns and ambushed my dwarves in the dining hall causing utter panic and lots of lives. The dwarves killed off all crocodiles except for one, which was too strong, so they locked the reptile in the refuse room. Here is a Picture of the vault after the attack:
There is a lot of stones :X Is it possible to have embark without any ore? Because i had to dig to fun so i can finally have some weapons and i lost my fort :/

There's no way a slade warhammer can glance off.
A slade warhammer would probably have it's own gravity field. Not to mention slade armour would probably make you completely immune to blunt (not sure about edged).

I thought it was silver, and that you couldn't get slade?
Slade works for blunt weapons only, it should be the best material for them even default. There's no way a slade warhammer can glance off.
tested it again, and Slade didn't glance off. must have been the hammer skill or something.
I thought it was silver, and that you couldn't get slade?
There's no legit way to get slade anymore iirc.
we should do some sort of challenge for Dwarf fortress. like forced to make homes for each dwarf, have a max population, and other fun ideas that would make the game much harder then it is.
we should do some sort of challenge for Dwarf fortress. like forced to make homes for each dwarf, have a max population, and other fun ideas that would make the game much harder then it is.
forced to make homes for each dwarf? Bitch, I do that as a mandatory thing with my forts because my dorf happiness matters. [editline]28th August 2011[/editline] I get OCD if my dwarves don't have a bedroom, office, and dining room, complete with a container and cabinet. :(
no i ment like actual homes not the little places with beds and thats it like houses above ground.
Apartment buildings aren't exceptionally difficult, with mist showers, lava-warmed baths, garbage chutes and windows.
Gonna have to reclaim this fortress, 2 harpies are fucking up my shit (also the dwarfs apparently packed very little food and I struck platinum immediately, meaning a tonne of immigrants but no time to set up the proper food productions).
Apartment buildings aren't exceptionally difficult, with mist showers, lava-warmed baths, garbage chutes and windows.
Dorf skyscraper fortress.

No order whatsoever, un-even rooms with old tunnels/holes propped with walls, messy tangle of corridors with beds placed in no order at all, no even colours on walls (I just smooth everything) and miss-aligned tables (for example 3 rows, row 1 had 4 tables, row 2 has 3 and row 3 has 6, also sometimes I don't really look and I end up with one row with one chair per side of the table, another with only one row of chairs between the rows of tables). [editline]28th August 2011[/editline] Also why is there no Warhammer mod yet?
[editline]28th August 2011[/editline] Also why is there no Warhammer mod yet?
Everything needs a Warhammer/40k mod. I`m not being sarcastic.
welp, I'm the mountain home now, so I think I'll kill this fortress off and start a new one. the final stocks and population of Savagework: Total artifacts: 12 Seiges: 3 forgotten beasts: 5 or 6, not sure. mega/semi-megabeasts: 1, a minotaur.
Everything needs a Warhammer/40k mod. I`m not being sarcastic.
you are imperial colonists WAAAUGH you are dead although it would be cool setting up on a death world/ice world etc.
so, i opened up the underworld again, and the few demons that were still interested, moth and mayfly based ones, charged into my fortress, before getting zerged by my dwarves. they were overwhelmed, but my fortress is pretty much fucked now anyway. [editline] [/editline] got a fell mood, produced a dwarf-bone helm called 'drumhex the profane shock'
