Downside is keeping the Dorf's happy is a tad trickier overall.
Upside is they dont make as many friends and spirals are less likely.
Why would my dwarves having friends result with spirals? Doesn't talking to friends give good thoughts?
On another note, Anyone know anything about Kobold Fortress?

Having friends? Makes dorf happy.
Friends dying? Makes dorf VERY unhappy.
Unhappy dorf? Tantrum spiral.
Considering how often dorf's die it's normally worth keeping the fort as a big group of sub-acquaintances.
Oh my goodness Zotho is covered entirely in metal. Steel mask and helm, steel chain shirt with bronze plate overtop, bronze gauntlets, steel leggings and steel boots.

Now set him as the front gate sentry.
He's pretty much invincible to anything but MONSTROUS creatures.

scourges are the most overpowered thing ever.

Oh, almost forgot about them. I think I'm using Orkel's lasher fix.
THey have cracked 4 or 5 of my dwarves skulls open already but soon I shall have my own Scourge army.
quick question: Does archers shoot from behind a fortification to the level below?
quick question: Does archers shoot from behind a fortification to the level below?
They can't shoot directly below them, but yes they will shoot diagonally downwards.
Make it stoooop. :(

Sadly this is an adventurer. Due to the lack of dwarves or steel making creatures in this world, I enabled steel for humans.
Started playing today. Put it against me for about a year and a half. Glad I finally decided to dl it
made a legendary lead spear
useful?
edit:

Third page? MADNESS
Also tried Genesis, tore a elf's tits off.
It was fun.
Third page? BLASPHEMY

Could be a river/stream/brook. Dark blue is normally semi-deep water so it is most likely a river. If not, it could be one of the nicer peaceful zones on a map.

You found a good marsh probably!
if it's savage expect to suffer many casualties.
Unicorns will attack and murder dwarves for fun.
A stray llama just starved to death, how can I butcher it's corpse?

DAMNIT, WERE THE HELL IS THE MAGMA SEA, I KEEP HITTING SEMI MOLTEN ROCK!
I am wanting to make a grand fortress that's deeper in the earth, close to its blood to forge my metals and to melt my enemies.

If you're hitting semi-molten rock then you accidentally missed the magma sea.

I missed the center of the earth, I feel terrible.
Don't worry. If you missed a magma sea, you can continue on your path and probably [sp]lose all your dwarves to horrible flesh eating monstrosities with poison spit and flaming eyeballs[/sp]
Well, here ends my first playthrough. I got most of it right, but I forgot to make a well. When winter came, the water froze, and the brewer kept glitching and refusing to make drink. I tried to mine around some ice to unfreeze it with a furnace, but it didn't work. I lost two dwarves to thirst through the winter, but eventually spring came. The water melted, and I was overjoyed. Then I remembered the ice I had mined round. It was near the surface, and so water flooded down into my fort. I tried to build walls to stop it, but the architect was throwing a party and when he finally noticed the water, all the dwarves just charged into the flood to drink, such was their thirst. Then, as they drowned, it started raining.
The player-controlled dragonfire worked on all those elves in the arena, and things will actually catch on fire now instead of just melting. Forgotten beast webbers work properly (they are broken in the version you have now, as many of you know). Various cleanup on the interaction interfaces. I still have a page of issues for each of the new night creatures, and six and a half pages for the cities/markets/underground, in addition to the animal stuff. At least things are moving along again.
This will be so much fun, I can't wait to make an adamantine creature that shoots fire out of... well, everywhere.

A creature with bones of Slade, skin of Adamantine, poisonous blood and spits magma.

And looks like a tapir with bat wings crossed with a pachycephalosaurus.
If you have the slade, then if they fall they basically collapse in on themselves.
And it menaces with spikes of something. It must always menace with spikes of something.
