why do we keep calling adamantite cotton candy?
Where cotton candy is Clowns usually are nearby, a bright teal color, is extremely light and "fluffy," and is ravenously mined without regard to dental hygiene.
"A grand room full of iron chairs and geese made of silver in an untamed wild freezing mountain!"
How does one obtain geese made of silver?
GOddaMN I'm bad at making a torture pit for my captives. I threw a bunch of crundles into a pit only accessible from hatches at the top. I filled it with water thinking it'd drown them; only to find out they can use the water as an elevator and escape through the unlocked hatches. Good god they terrorized so many dwarves till i figured out what was happening. Now I just leave them down there and hope they'll get crushed by a titan or something.

I don't have any lava and there's already spikes. I've made a decent compromise by making it 10 z levels deeper and putting a layer of water at the bottom. Stun and drown on impact :u. (Untested as of yet, but I hope that's how it works).
why do we keep calling adamantite cotton candy?
General idea is that hell is the circus e.t.c and adamantite is cotton candy, as some people see them as spoilers. It's kind of a habit, even though 9/10 people know it. It also lets us trick people into opening hell :v:

Can anybody remember the name of that blog that had a few tales from early DF? Like the tale of fox face mc brain damage, a woodcutter who got his shit handed to him by a fox, and opening a floodgate resulting in an angry metal god slaughtering dwarves in knee high foamy blood water. He had good prose/ humour.
DF is a game for sociopaths.
You sure? [editline]26th November 2011[/editline] Why is my fps so low? Ohhh...
despite it being the most dwarven state of being, why is everything on fire there?
My dwarves were eating too much cotton candy. v:v:v
Ugh only metal I have is copper and silver...
Ugh only metal I have is copper and silver...
Give your military several layers of silk clothes underneath a copper chain shirt and a copper chestplate, the layers of shirts will help a little bit. It's still bad though.
Ugh only metal I have is copper and silver...
You can always import better metals, or dig down far enough for the best of it.
You can always import better metals, or dig down far enough for the best of it.
I'd sooner have steel than adamantine for my armour, could just be me though.
Lead Breastplate over Adamantine Mail shirt (you'd have to enable lead to be used in the files though). I wonder how a Slade breastplate would fare.

is it possible to prioritize stockpiles? so for example i get all my goblin cages put in the death pit animal stockpile
already tested slade, it's basically indestructible. the skill of the wearer obviously affects this, but I haven't tested the degree to which it does yet.
I think they'd barely even be able to move anyway unless they were legendary armor users. That stuff is heavy!
This is a dumb question but I want to be sure so I don't fuck anything up: Does "generating a new world" while I already have active saves elsewhere overwrite that world/save?
This is a dumb question but I want to be sure so I don't fuck anything up: Does "generating a new world" while I already have active saves elsewhere overwrite that world/save?
You can have multiple worlds, but only one save per world. So no popping into your fortress in adventurer mode. At least not while it's still inhabited.
I wanted to start a new world, yeah. Which I did. Holy shit this starting position: WATERFALL INTO A CANYON. It's on the border of a rocky wasteland and more tree-ish area.
Give your military several layers of silk clothes underneath a copper chain shirt and a copper chestplate, the layers of shirts will help a little bit. It's still bad though.
Would leather and wool shit under armor help against blunt attacks?
Well i'm not dead. But my interior designer must be. I had to drop part of the mountain into the aquifer because there were NO STONES above it. [editline]27th November 2011[/editline] It's already churned out two artifacts, an axe and some WOLF/WHALE LEATHER ARMOR.

With that kind of terrain you could create a living utopia! Harness the river for your own personal goals!
How can I drop something(or a noble) into a deep pit of death?
I wanted to start a new world, yeah. Which I did. Holy shit this starting position: WATERFALL INTO A CANYON. It's on the border of a rocky wasteland and more tree-ish area.
Areas that are divided in 3 different biomes by a river are fucking awesome, had one sometime ago that was pretty much like yours (no waterfall, but it was a divided in 3 biomes by a river: desert, palm-ish area and some sort of badland).
Here's a better shot of how the areas are divded by the four/five z level deep sheer canyon cliff, as well as my MASTERFUL and WELL PLANNED defenses. And here's the bottom river level, the insides of which I made extremely ugly whilst trying to find a way around the aquifer.
i wish i could get a starting area that nice. would be great for all sorts of traps/constructions.
I actually saved the region folder right at embark. I knew it's a site I wanted to keep around :v:
