Sonic Adventure was never that good as some people make it out to be... I played it after playing Sonic Heroes and I got to say that I enjoyed Sonic Heroes more yet some people still seem to worship the Adventure games as if it is some holy grail of 3D Sonic. The hub system was freaking horrible, the camera was awful as usual and it all was a big Mario 64 rip off with some speed sections thrown in for good measure. At least Heroes had some good gameplay.
On unrelated note, the full version of Escape from the City Modern Remix leaked

do we really need to start the ripoff argument
and wow holy shit that was fucking dumb and not funny in the least bit
Geez, sorry for stating my opinion. I forgot I was on Facepunch where it's all about finding the right bandwagon jumping on it and riding all the way.... that's the way it goes.
Good news everyone, QA testers and sega are really loving the console version of Generations
Bad news is even sega think the 3DS version as it stands is total trash
I would disagree if the Modern stages weren't playing like Sonic Rush. That would make the Modern stages like the Classic stages, just with a power dash.

More like you're stating your opinion [good] in a thread full of people that like what you're stating your opinion about [unwise] and acting as if everyone else is idiots for liking it [bad].
Oh, I never said anything about anyone being an idiot. I like Adventure for what it is... I even bought the shitty port on Steam to support Sega. I just don't feel it's as good as some people make it out to be, that's all. Sonic in 3D was never good until the more modern games yet people keep pointing fingers at SA, like that was the best thing since jesus. Being a fan of something also comes with ability to come out and say what you don't like about it. I'm as big Sonic fan as anyone else here, just I'm not a fan boy.

I'll admit - Sonic Adventure (and DX) are full of problems, from the awkward cutscenes to the bizzare glitches that can occur during regular gameplay. But even despite this, it was enjoyable for me although not stellar.
Adventure 2 was my addiction, but that also had problems - fewer glitches yet some of the simplest things were still weird; like the english dub not being timed properly with the cutscenes, resulting in cut-off sentences or shots that seem to go for too long because a character should've been saying something. Not to mention that while Tails and Robotnik are interesting shoot-em-up romps despite how pointless they were, Knuckles' and Rouge's levels were.. Just a pain in the ass.

Adventure 2 was all around better product and it was closer to how I'd imagine a perfect Sonic game. They got rid of all the things that made the first Adventure such a chore. The hub system was removed all together and yeah, it felt all more fleshed out. What Sega got wrong is the whole "play as another character thing" and making it required to beat the game (and also, play the same game 5 times more to get to fight our final boss, yay). Nevermind that, the whole point I was trying to make is the nostalgia got the best of us... when you go back to play the thing, you realize (or at least I do that) that these old games were no better than what Sega is releasing now. Of course, that doesn't excuse Sega at all... but you gotta admire their dedication. They're trying a lot.
It's the fact that you stated you opinion as fact. It's not that big of a deal, it's just that most of us on FP consider that a serious pet peeve. That and the "parody" that you posted was completely unfunny and annoying.

I agree with you about adventure vs adventure 2 though.
Talking about SA2, I remember that racing minigame, I wonder if they're going to add something like that.
This was my only problem with this game.
Also that soundcloud link doesn't work for me, mind reuploading it to somewhere else?
Haha, just found this - first 30 seconds are great

Am I the only one who actually thought Sonic Unleashed was actually decent?
The Werehog stages were... Strange, to say the least but still fun to play.
Only Sonic game I've truely hated was Sonic and the Secret Rings.
FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT.
(P.S. I don't consider the GBA "port" of Sonic 1 to be even remotely official, it's better off being under the "pirated games" category.)
Though most certainly, my favorites were Sonic 1 all the way through till Sonic Heroes, including the GBA games & DS games. Yes, I even enjoyed Sonic Heroes.
I guess I'm just easily amused.

SA1 has a few fatal flaws
- Wonky, lazily animated cutscenes
- Shitty voice acting, even from Rayn Drummond (I much prefer Jason Griffith over him and the current one)
- Some random glitches which happen out of fucking nowhere, especially in regular play
Still, it has to be the most classic 3D Sonic, and even one of the best 3D platformers ever. Sonic Unleashed takes the cake however. SA2 was actually a lot better and way more memorable than SA1, except for the fucking FIND THE EMERALDS IN LARGE RANDOM ENVIRONMENTS levels. Those weren't fucking fun, especially the one with Knuckles and the sewer, which was basically the Water Temple all over again.

I agree, i hated the huge knuckles levels and it's so funny how all the songs start the same:
This is Knuckles, and I'm back to kick some butt in wild canyon.
This is Knuckles, and we're in Pumpkin Hill, you ready?
This is knuckles, and we're in Aquatic Mine!
This is Knuckles, in the Death Chamber.
This is Knuckles, and we're in the Meteor Herd.
I have Sonic Heroes and Sonic Riders.
I played SA:DX. Mother of god that game is so funny.
The graphics, the voices and the gameplay just makes me laugh :v: .
It's not bad, just not HOLY GRAIL OF SONIC. ALL MUST CIRCLEJERK.
SA2 was way better.
these raps are horrible :v:

The horrible rapping will forever be burned into my brain, though. I for one loved the emerald hunt stages.
[editline]21st July 2011[/editline]
Also, as badass as Chaos was, he really didn't seem to fit in Sonic's universe at all.
I still can't get over Wild Canyon.
When I was a kid I was playing it every time I could (in general), mom was sitting behind me watching it laughing at the music then "Rouge she so sexy and smooth" came up and suddenly she did a double take, I didn't really understand or care back then but man she freaked out hard enough for me to remember.
All's she did though was end up checking on games before getting them for me v:v:v
Not Generations Related, but Sonic Nostalgia

I came three times while reading this thread.
Anyone have a theory as to when they will announce it for PC? Do you think it'll be steam?

To be honest, I think this is worse. If someone walked by and heard the rap, they might think "Oh, he's playing one of those Steal a Car simulator games". If someone walks by and hears you listening to this one... it's just too glam.

Here is a male Tina Turner impersonator singing this one.
And I always muted the TV when this one came on.

Thinking back.. what the heck was wrong with Sega when they put these into SA1???

WHAT DOES THIS EVEN MEAN??
I do understand the feeling of a Persian Cat.
But the Sphinx looked so cute...I had to shave it... (from Amy's theme)

EXCEPT!
YOU FORGOT ONE THING:

DR. IVO ROBOTNIK!
It would be hilarious if they added a carbon copy of the Eggmanland stage from Sonic Unleashed from the 360/PS3 versions, that level is the most annoying shit ive ever played.
