It came out months ago, received mixed reviews as far as I know.
It was on my mind too that they will probably just drop trying to finish Sonic 4 because Generations is way better.

Man Sega had fun
If the 3DS version used the same gameplay as the other I'd get it, but Sonic Rush? No thanks. Sticking to the console(or PC if it's announced) version.
What? Sonic Rush was a pretty great game, in my opinion.
Holy shit, Sega's really serious about this.

In the gamescon thing or whatever they had a updated build showing city escape's classic level again, minor changes to the level here and there but noticable things include
-Sonics Jump height fixed, now it -perfectly- matches the old games
-Sonic's starting speed is improved so he's not fighting some unseen current
-Physics got a major update
Gonna be so good
Oh, god, they brought the truck back. :v:
And eugh, I really don't like the remix they did to Escape from the City. They remixed it to sound more like the shit dance music you hear on the radio.
[editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
It sounds more like the original in the German video, though.

Seems like they're doing a really good job. I never got a chance to play Sonic Unleashed, so hopefully the Modern levels will be fun.

Rush was fine, but what's stopping them from keeping it the same as the console version? I love the 3D segments.
Also those animations are excellent. Though, the more I look at classic Sonic, the more it creeps me out. It really makes it look like his head is just a round white ball with a blue cap and a mask...

Oh, when you put it that way...
That's entirely true. Sonic Rush was a great game, but if I want to play Sonic Generations, I want to play that, not Sonic Rush styled gameplay.
I still love how they're keeping the Sonic Unleashed style of gameplay for modern Sonic.
I don't know why that game got so much bashing. The gameplay was great, in my opinion.

Technically they're using the Sonic Colors gameplay, since almost everyone actually liked that game.

It's updated and modified, so not really.

Isn't the gameplay of Sonic Colors almost the same gameplay of the day levels Unleashed?
Isn't the gameplay of Sonic Colors almost the same gameplay of the day levels Unleashed?
Well yeah, but the drifting is done differently, and not to mention quick-stepping is only triggered at certain parts of each level. Also, of course, Colors has the Wisps.
It's updated and modified, so not really.
so i guess portal 2 doesn't really use the source engine
[editline]25th August 2011[/editline]
you heard it here folks, only half-life 2 uses the source engine, all other games use updated and modified versions so they don't really use it

It's considerably the same exact thing.
Im looking forward to seeing Shadow the Hedgehog in this also Rooftop Run and Crisis City.

My point was that the one in Generations is identical to the one in Colors, so in all technicalities, it's Color's gamplay.

the one in colors is the exact same as the one in unleashed, just with a few added mechanics and SLIGHTLY changed aspects

Last time i checked, the Wii couldnt use the Hedgehog Engine for Sonic Unleashed. So how exactly is the Colors engine modified?
So far the Sonic series has given us three good games and a lot of weird pornography, this looks pretty fun though

Colors used the Hedgehog Engine.
[editline]26th August 2011[/editline]
And it's modified from the Sonic Unleashed iteration.
[editline]26th August 2011[/editline]
So Generations gameplay is essentially the same as Unleashed gameplay.
[editline]26th August 2011[/editline]
nintendude is saying that generations gameplay is not really the same as unleashed gameplay, when really, it is
