Eggman torso needs to be fatter.
Tons of new info for you, shamelessly lifted from SA

-the game begins with modern Sonic celebrating his birthday with all the other characters (just like in that one render!) when a mysterious creature appears and sucks all the other characters into a vortex and disappears, leaving strange doors everywhere... Sonic opens one, goes looking around, classic Sonic shows up, and so on
-Speed Highway confirmed (I think was the first official confirmation? no pics or anything)
-there's one classic act, one modern act and five challenge acts per zone (first official confirmation)
-there are hub stages for each zone as well as a main zone-select hub; from the sounds of things the zone hubs are 3D and the main hub is 2D
-each time you clear a new zone you'll rescue one of the other characters who'll then appear in the hub world for you to talk to before or in between missions, a la Colours DS (they're not playable, from the sounds of things)
-challenge stages are in the vein of the ones from Unleashed/Colours, ie shorter standalone stages with unique completion gimmicks; the listed challenges from Green Hill include a ghost race, having to clear the stage with a minimum amount of rings, destroy a certain number of enemies within the time limit... typical stuff
-collecting the red rings hidden throughout the acts will unlock various collectible trinkets (they don't mention what they are but if it's anything like Unleashed/Colours they probably unlock concept art, music, movies, all that junk)
-there's a skill shop that allows you to purchase Sonic Rings-style skill/ability upgrades using act/mission rankings (I think?); listed upgrades include a higher max speed, a higher stock of default lives, a longer window to grab dropped rings after you get hit, longer air time when jumping, a classic shield and an initial burst of speed at the beginning of every act (the stuff in the achievements list suggests these upgrades might be limited to modern Sonic, but this article doesn't seem to mention it, so who knows)
-the original Megadrive game is available as one of the purchases from the skill shop
Sega's lifting some embargo on Monday, so expect some clarification/additional info in a few days, I guess.
Is Supa Sonic confirmed.

Both Classic and Modern were in the demo.
So will you be able to play as Tails and/or Knuckles? I'd love to see a rival Knuckles (which is what classic Knuckles was up until the end of Sonic 3.) And he'd be like a 'pest' to Modern Knuckles. :v:
You know what, fuck everyone. I fucking loved Sonic Heroes and seeing that video almost made me shed a tear for my childhood.

I loved Sonic Heroes too... :(
It was a severely underrated game.
It was just a shame that you were forced to complete the game 4 times to get the real ending.
I mean, yeah it added longevity, but Team Rose's campaign was far too boring.

I recently started playing through Sonic Heroes again. I played through Team Sonic and Team Chaotix quite fast. But then I realized how annoyingly hard Team Dark can be (that fucking rail level) and Team Rose is jokingly easy.
The game is seriously pretty fun, I don't see why a fan of Sonic Adventure wouldn't like it.
And the cutscenes were breath-taking for their time.

The dialog, however, was not. Well, except for Metal Sonic.

I liked heroes well enough, but it felt way too... floaty. Nothing felt as solid as it did in the Adventure games, control, movement... everything about Heroes just seemed a little off to me.

Vector had some of the most childish lines. "Espio, don't be silly!" It was pretty unfitting for his large aggressive looks.
One thing I wish they'd do again, though, is make Robotnik playable. It was so unbelievably awesome to play as him in Adventure 2.

He was creepy as hell though in Chao Garden.
The engine heroes runs on is a pile of shit.
Theres no speed up or speed down time for running so you just zoom off. And i think they could have made Metal Sonic a secret throughout the whole game and would have been surprising to see at the end, but no, they fucked that up too. And the level variety is very repetitive considering Team Chaotix is the only one who does something different. And you could use the arguement of SA1 having similar levels, but at least you did different things. Even then, SA1 has not aged well, and SA2 is a tough act to follow, so Sonic Heroes is mediocre at best. I like the levels a lot which is why they use them for games like Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing, but the game is nothing special.

Why isn't it November yet!
Doesn't it seem better when Sonic games have no plot? Just simply going...

Technically Generations has a plot. However, it seems to generally be of the 'in the background' variety that you don't have to care about, rather than everything precluded by a cutscene where everyone derps around with awkward lip sync.

Even so, games that didn't really have a plot, like the original ones, seemed to exceed above the rest. Other games should be like that, or at least make the cut scenes shorter or happen while your playing the game so you can pretty much ignore it. Like in Sonic heroes: The cutscenes were short, there wasn't any real plot or side missions, like the Knuckle missions in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, you just go. To summarize, if the cutscenes take up quite a bit of the game, there's no real point.

Sonic Heroes didn't have a plot, and it gets bashed for some reason.
I'm pretty much convinced at this point we're not going to get a PC confirmation of Generations at all. :v: It seems too close to release date.

I quite enjoyed Sonic Adventure 1/2's cutscenes.
-nevermind, already been posted, sorry-
With all the previews, game trailers and otherwise not to mention the level list leak, we're going to know exactly what everything looks like and so forth before the game's even released at this rate. :v:
Also, I love the extra detail of having the Death Egg rising from the sky - just like in S&K/S3&K.

Im still waiting to see the Perfect Chaos, Silver, and Egg Dragoon fights.
All I know is I hope they don't have tons more modern sonic levels than Classic. Hope it's atleast equal between the two. I will always be a 2D Sonic fan (except for Sonic R which I like which is in 3D but that's a sidegame not a main game)
And now some Old Sonic 3 & Knuckles Level Select/Debug Mode Glitches
