Its up now, I'm downloading it
Is it gold only?
Just played the Modern Demo. Kind of left me with a "meh" feeling. Classic is just fun as hell.
Nice Sega still loves to leave unused assets in the Demos.

MUST. RESIST. LISTENING.
I heard the first 15 seconds and had to stop, I just can't listen to it before playing the game. BUT IT'S REALLY TEMPTING.

Hot damn. [sp]Gotta love that they actually have what sounds like the original songs even for the modern ones with new instrumentation added in, plus it's such a nostalgia-gasm.[/sp]
this demo doesn't seem Time limited like the old one.

I am saddened that you can not kill Omochao in this game.

On a more serious note, I like omochao, when you're facing a boss for the first time, he provides helpful hints (though his voice is annoying as hell.)

I like how his only apperance in Shadow was that you could fire him out of a gun :v:
Oh god why did they give Omochao a whiny anime voice
her original voice was fine

Stupid question: how?
Stupid question: how?

1. Download the demo file (thanks to whoever uploaded it, btw, you're the man!)
2. Get an empty USB stick and prepare/format it in your Xbox
3. Optional: copy a small demo from your Xbox to that USB stick. That'll create some folders on the stick, but you can later do that manually, too.
4. Get Party Buffalo. This program will let you access the Xbox data on the USB stick. (I like it better than the other app mentioned before.)
5. Plug the USB stick into your PC and open it with Party Buffalo.
6. In the file system, go to Content\0000000000000000\ (or create those folders if you have skipped step 3).
7. Create a subfolder called "12345678" (normally the Title ID, but no idea what the correct one is for this demo... this value should work though).
8. Open that subfolder and create another subfolder called "00080000" (this indicates that it's a demo).
9. Your current path should now be: Content\0000000000000000\12345678\00080000\
10. Add the downloaded demo file (DE30E958476750841A4437CF398E25EEAFCEAAC653) to this folder.
11. Wait until it's fully written to the stick (Party Buffalo seems to use write buffering, so even if it appears to be done already, data might still be transfered).
12. Safely remove the USB stick from your PC and plug it into the Xbox 360.
13. Go to the memory manager and copy the demo from the stick to your HDD... or play it directly from the stick, if you prefer (or if you don't have an HDD).
I always assumed Omochao was female from the voice. Did they ever say one way or another?
I always assumed Omochao was female from the voice. Did they ever say one way or another?
Wiki refers to it as a "he", but since it's robotic I guess it doesn't matter.
Finished downloading the demo, I love games where it gives you the time you finished. On the classic green hill zone I usually finish from 53 to 60 seconds, as for the other level, I finish it in under 5 minutes.
Anyone have had any issues pre-ordering from Direct2Drive?
Time for some file digging!
Character Team-Ups
In levels with Tails, you press the Y button to call him to you, similar to how the elemental shields were shown with Y in that one screenshot. It’s likely all those little powerup icons we saw are things you can use with Y.
You can call Espio in a fashion similar to Tails. He has a grappling hook.
There’s also the ability to call Vector. He throws you to locations.
A team-up mission with Amy is included; she gives you the hammer jump.
There’s a team-up mission with Cream in a level with no rings. The only way to get rings is to call on Cream to throw you some.
There’s a treasure hunt for buried metals. You call Knuckles, who digs into the the ground for you.
Rouge team-up: heavily armored robots block you–call on Rouge to take them out.
Blaze team-up: the level has walls of flame which Blaze can extinguish.
Charmy team-up: …he can make a vortex at your feet. What?
Character Races/Battles
The Tails race is with Tails in a plane.
In the race with Knuckles, he will burrow underground to chea–er, use his unique abilities to take shortcuts.
Rouge tries to stop you with bombs in her race.
There’s an Espio fight in which you have to shine a spotlight to find him while he’s invisible.
“Collect 10 Chao and reach the goal before Cream!” (…explains itself.)
Miscellaneous Gameplay/Challenges
There are time trials that have powerups that give you more time.
The doppleganger race is not against the other era version; it’s essentially a ghost race, complete with translucency.
In the challenges with the giant enemies you just knock them over instead of killing them, but then they can be used as platforms.
The icon with the motobug and the ring is for Ring Time, which changes all enemies into rings (presumably for just a few seconds.)
There are apparently challenge missions with multiple animal capsules, where Sonic has to release all of them.
There’s a mission where Sonic has to carry the sign post to the end and knock it around, presumably like the end of Sonic 3 Act 1s where you could juggle it. The player has to knock it to the end of the level without it falling into pits.
There are single-ring challenge missions.
Jump panels are in at least one challenge act, presumably as in Sonic Adventure.
There’s a time trial in which your boost meter is 3 times the size of normal but it doesn’t replenish. That explains the “300% Boost” seen earlier.
Sounds pretty snazzy.
Holy shit that ending melody is awesome.
[sp]Man, the fact that it basically goes through Sonic's history just seems like it would be a great note to end Sonic altogether.[/sp]
How did people get achievements in this game already? It's not even out yet. I just saw the store page today: http://store.steampowered.com/app/71340/

I thought SAM only works for games you have installed? Or does pre-ordering it count?

I forgot about that vacuum gun, that was my favorite. Man, I should get my gamecube out again just to play it.
Here's a shot from a German video games magazine.

Don't worry, apparently 1 is the best score they can give out.
I've made a rough translation using Google.
The best ever Sonic of all time: the mix of classical 2D and modern 3D levels is simply the best.
If that's been translated wrong, then any German speakers can correct it.
Just finished playing the demo and... Oh my god. My hype-ometer is broken now. The demo is fantastic, they really fixed up classic Sonic's physics and now it feels just like the old games. Modern Sonic plays more or less like Colors did, which is great 'cause I loved that gameplay type. I really love that modern Sonic's music changes the faster you go, it's a really nice touch. 1 more day and I'm pre-ordering the heck outta this.
But now I have another problem, the game comes out on the 1st for consoles (I think), but the 4th for PC. I want to get it ASAP, but I'd really like the modding potential of the PC version.

Well I've got an empty wallet and since it's a steal you may gift it to me.
