I'm assuming it's best to play with a controller?
So, the sonic cycle has been broken ?
Sonic is officially a good franchise again
Crisis City, ALL. MY. RAGE! =(
Ugh I don't know if I should get it or not due to my computer. Currently have an AMD 64 x2 4400+ 2.3GHz and that's AWFUL. I'm debating between an Intel Pentium G620 or just spending the extra and getting the Sandy Bridge i3.... I need a new motherboard as well obviously, so for the latter I'd end up spending $170. But this is for more than just Sonic...
Crisis City, AL. MY. RAGE! =(
For me, hands down Planet wisp got all my rage.
Im amazed how many things you can unlock in this game.
Crisis City, AL. MY. RAGE! =(
See? See? Modern Era levels are unforgiving!
Just S ranked everything, and completed all the challenges, still amazed I'm having so much fun, just gotta find the Red Rings now ! Let's compare times for kicks, using modern eras Crisis City: 3:17.81 Rooftop Run: 3:07.39 Planet Wisp: 5:45.48
What pc are you running? I'm still on a 3ghz Core 2 Duo/9800GTX and my main concern is the processor.
i7, 5970, 6 GB Ram, pretty high range stuff basically.
Rooftop Run: 02:44.51
How's the game handling on dual core processors?(Seeing as the recommended requirements are so crazy-high).
Rooftop Run: 02:44.51
I really need to get better, I keep getting knocked onto lower paths by something Also those who can totally give Speed Highway a try with Sonic Boom playing, it fits SO WELL.
http://segmentnext.com/2011/11/04/sonic-generations-crashes-stuttering-fps-freezes-and-fixes/ Shows some fixes for some stuff. Also the reason for crashing in online mode is because of... my firewall? :pwn: Anyone know what ports this game uses?
The port is great, but it doesn't like Nvidia GPU's with optimus, which leaves me with a Intel GMA to run generations. I am hoping for a fix, so I can run the game for more than 5 FPS.

Late to the party, but this game really makes me happy for Sonic Team. Ever since SA2 they've been trying to make something with the same appeal as the Genesis games, to varying degrees of success, and it feels like they've finally nailed it in terms of level design and physics (and got 3D Sonic right at the same time). I just want to give them a big hug for all the flak they've taken in the last decade. On a more personally biased level, holy shit Chemical Plant Zone looks exactly like the daydreams I had about it as a kid and it is making me SO HAPPY. Classic Crisis City also made me laugh pretty hard.
Play Modern Crisis City with Angel Island's theme playing, report back with reactions.
Classic Crisis City can devour the depths of all of my rage within hell. Both Planet Wisp acts, too. Still got quite a few challenges (mostly Dopplegangers) to complete and the vast majority of the Red Rings to collect, but I've otherwise beaten the story. Personally liked Modern Sonic way more than I did Classic, ironically. [sp]Egg Dragoon was a pain in the ass, mostly because of the boss suddenly lolboosting away just as you get up to him or when he fires the 'skewer' exploding drill - and the game promptly switches to the 2D segment, making you unable to dodge it. The Final Boss was also annoying, mainly because all the sudden you can switch between 3D and 2D manually, you can make the other Sonic do a dash attack which only clears debris - neither of these getting any sort of pre-warning or demonstration - and the control is so non-existant that I had both Sonics facing backwards at times.[/sp] If there's one thing that keeps bugging me when I think about it, it's that the game never tells you about drifts with the right trigger - aside from a quick on-screen button prompt - while Stomping, Wall Jumping and Light Dashing through (specific) ring lines all get small demonstration videos in Dreamcast and Modern era Act 2 levels... Despite being able to do all three via extra/secret routes in the Genesis era. This, among other small factors, made the game feel a little slapdash and not entirely focused. But nevertheless it's damn fun, if not the old style of being frustrating by difficulty.

Lots of hang ups but not bad at all, tried it myself and got a 31 seconds, if I try hard enough can cut down even more :v:~

Finally got Modern Green Hill below two minutes. 1:57:83
An Asian Im not surprised.
Your concern should be the idiot in standing 2.
Your concern should be the idiot in standing 2.
What? I meant the guy in the first place.
What? I meant the guy in the first place.
Him being asian means nothing. That's just stereotyping. The guy in 2nd has a stupid 4chan name.
http://store.steampowered.com/video/71340/81268 I feel like 8 years old again.
Anyone else crashing when finishing the 5th classic sonic challenge in chemical plant zone? [editline]4th November 2011[/editline] All my fucking rage, I validate to try and fix the crashing problem, says it needs one file "Oh this shouldnt take that lon-" 2 GIGABYTE FILE
I wish i had 30$. :smug:
So, anyone else actually hoping for DLC? I'd personally really like to see Mystic Cave and Death Egg (S3&K) on this engine.
