Recorded myself doing the Final Boss act on Hard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDmurD_hGlo (Not media'd cause spoilers.) [sp]Found it funny how he didn't even get to pull off a laser attack or slow time down move.[/sp] :v: [sp]Still not very sure what they mean by evading him when I get close enough. I notice he swipes his arms at me, but letting go of boost doesn't seem to help and heading the other way seems to be worse than just letting him hit me.[/sp] Also anyone know what this patch did? I still have the same problems as before. (Online crashes me and inside the skill shop all my controls are unresponsive as heck.)

[sp]I feel sad that despite having S-ranked the Time Eater on my first go in beating the game, somehow, he felt like the most annoying boss simply because of how unresponsive the goddamn controls were. The game gives you no advice about how shooting the other Sonic forwards will slam debris, switching between 2D and 3D is extremely out of the left-field instead of feeling instinctual, and I literally had both of my Sonics /facing backwards/ when I went to the 2D thing at one point.[/sp] On an alternative note, is the Homing Attack for Classic Sonic unlockable or was that by game-data editing only? Trying to figure out the conditions to unlock that and the Sonic 1 extra.
fuck i'm so tempted to click ALL THESE spoiler tags EEEAAARRGGGHHss
fuck i'm so tempted to click ALL THESE spoiler tags EEEAAARRGGGHHss
It's not like they're plot spoilers, only notes for that battle specifically gameplay-wise. Then again, this game isn't really about plot to begin with aside from nostalgia-gasms.

So. Did you all like Classic or Modern more? I like Modern, if only you could get Classic's music. [editline]5th November 2011[/editline] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/OahRv.jpg[/img_thumb] Also, post some GHZ Act 2 times.
The mechanics of Shadow's fight would make an amazing standalone multiplayer game Who's with me
When grinding on the three rails in GHZ, I flipped from the straight one to the corkscrewed one at just before it actually corkscrewed, and Sonic flew into the air and orbited the three rails in a randomish pattern before flinging off into the water. Really wish I had fraps on during that time
Yeah, I've ended up in a wall or two. That and Sonic decided to just leave the screen once.
but then why is there spoiler tags [tab]i'm so confused...[/tab]
So that if people want to play the game this fresh after release and still find out some things on their own. :v:
So. Did you all like Classic or Modern more? I like Modern, if only you could get Classic's music.
Modern Sonic. Probably because they brought gameplay from Colors, it felt a hell of a lot more 'solid' and refined than the Classic gameplay - not that Classic Sonic was bad, but having only jumping and Spindashes pales compared to the Homing Attacks and Boosts Modern Sonic can do. [sp]And then there's the fact that after the Genesis Era, Modern Sonic gets every single other boss fight and becomes more 'important' than Classic Sonic, who just seems to be along for the ride.[/sp]
It'd be cool if each era had it's own Sonic, like... Jaleel White, Ryan Drummond, Roger Craig Smith.
You do know that Steam has a screenshot function, right? I'm excited for potential mods that may come out. I'd love a big open world playground map, if custom maps are possible.
You do realize that not everyone is playing the steam version right? I really love this game! Anyone hesitant to buy it definitively should. But I have the weird ATI drivers lag thing. I have 2 ATI 5770 crossfired and it plays every other game perfectly so its not a hardware issue. On that one site someone posted about fixes and stuff just said,
This has been widely reported by the ATI users so my guess is a driver conflict – try updating the drivers or downgrading them to a more stable version if you have installed the beta drivers.
So does anyone know of the drivers that work with it?
Anyone playing this with a logitech controller? Just realized it looks like it only supports 360.
It'd be cool if each era had it's own Sonic, like... Jaleel White, Ryan Drummond, Roger Craig Smith.
What about Jason Griffith?
You do realize that not everyone is playing the steam version right? [editline]5th November 2011[/editline] Get all red rings on classic planet wisp for homing shots.
Well, that was easier to do than I expected, but still took me three runs. Got the third and fourth rings in my first run, missed the fifth ring on my second run and got it in the third. Kind of underwhelming, especially at the cost of 100 Skill Points, but oh well - beat pretty much the entire game without realizing that I had no skills equpped (gotta press start to go to a confirmation from which you can say 'yes' to set skills in place; how intuitive), so it's not that big a deal.
Just completed act 1 and 2 of Seaside Hill and I gotta say, I am absolutely loving every single moment of this game. I haven't run into any errors at all so far, the game has been running great barring the few moments of stuttering. To anyone on the edge of buying this or not, go for it. Buy 3.
Well isn't this nice use for Endless Boost.
Got modern rooftop run to 2:39.37, getting better at this :v:! Woop, just got 2:29.79
Well isn't this nice use for Endless Boost.
There's an endless boost skill? Fuck me sideways, I'm up to the Rooftop Run challenges.
Anyone playing this with a logitech controller? Just realized it looks like it only supports 360.
Playing this with my Logitech Dual Shock knock off and it works fine. From what I gather this game seems to support any controller since in configure menu you can bind the buttons and such. Anyway, played this for a bit yesterday and it's definitely very good game and decent port. No complaints so far besides those god awful challenge stages needed to unlock bosses... pff. Had a bit of stuttering in demanding parts of the game but nothing game breaking. Considering the age of my PC setup (nearly over 4 years now), that's actually pretty good.
Being a huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan since the first one back in the good ol 90's and then hating a lot of the Sonic games they've brought out recently, this game is fantastic it's what the fans always wanted I am loving it even though I finished the main story.
It'd be cool if each era had it's own Sonic, like... Jaleel White, Ryan Drummond, Roger Craig Smith.
And in between the Ryan Drummond years and the Roger Craig Smith years would be the Jason Griffith years. :v:
Man I want this game so bad. Can't believe I wasted all my money already. Well, guess I'm going to wait for it to go on sale. :suicide: Also, are the classic versions of modern stages any good?

Also I think I'm a minority here but I REALLY hate seaside hill's music, everything about it is just so boring and dull, thank god I can swap music out.
damn, Now i finally downlloaded that file after validating files, and now every time i jump on an enemy (classic sonic) I get like 2 frames every 10 seconds. Why me Sega?
Planet Wisp is horseshit.
Planet Wisp is horseshit.
It's bad on the first run, especially that damn Spike Wisp, but on replays it isn't too bad when you recognize the shortcuts and alternate routes. If you're going for speed runs, be sure in the Classic act that when you drop into the large silo-like dome, spindash or use the Spike Wisp to go up the wall to the right; you'll avoid the last underground section of the level and end up going to the goalpost painlessly.
Has anyone found out if you can make custom maps or is that a no go currently?
Has anyone found out if you can make custom maps or is that a no go currently?
No word on anything about custom maps, yet.
Does anyone have any idea as to what i should to about the effects slowing down my game? [editline]5th November 2011[/editline] The game plays normally, until i use a spring, or kill an enemy, or even use a fucking dash panel! :suicide:
