Now with superior audio HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG
Oh my god. OH MY GOD. I was only mildly interested in this before now but this tipped it. Definitely getting this.
I remember farming rings and crystals on City Escape to feed my Chao and make it the ultimate racer and fighter. I played the level so much that I always demolished my friends in the 2-player "snowboard" race on the city map. Good times
Same, I would loop through that level over and over again on the rescue mission to get infinite rings for the store. And then get hit by the truck :argh:
Just a friendly reminder, there will be a demo on PSN/XBL. Sega says "soon".
I noticed that when Classic Sonic got hit by the truck, he went from 98 rings to 20. Weird. Also, hot damn. Wish the music was higher-quality but that will happen in due time - start of the second half of the song almost sounded like Sonic 3's Endless Mine song from the 2-player mode.

This is gonna have to be a first-day buy for me.
I just found out the levels on the 3DS version are completely different. Green Hill Zone is the only shared level. No City Escape. I might still get it but I'm not nearly as excited as I was. :sigh:
modern sonic version looks just as cool
modern sonic version looks just as cool
I suggest you watch this demo on Gamespot, because the video quality there is much better.
Man, I just remembered I don't have a PS3 or an Xbox. :smith:
Man, I just remembered I don't have a PS3 or an Xbox. :smith:
I find it weird how they didnt take a Unleashed route and try for a Wii release of it, but then again the Wii version of Unleashed got screwed over by not using the Hedgehog Engine, having more werehog levels than usual, and watered down bosses, and shorter daytime stages. So maybe its a good thing, better to have all the content than less of it.

There was also the lack of hub worlds, which is arguably a bad thing.

I'm shitting myself with excitement. After playing the Unleashed demo at a friend's house I was so amazed yet I don't have a PS3 or Xbox. The Wii version of Unleashed didn't do any justice. The thought of modding sweetens the deal.

FUCK YES IT'S LIKE THE OLD SONIC GAMES MIXED WITH THE SONIC ADVENTURE GAMES RFGSDFG. This gonna b gud!
FUCK YES IT'S LIKE THE OLD SONIC GAMES MIXED WITH THE SONIC ADVENTURE GAMES RFGSDFG. This gonna b gud!
Well, it's closer to being mixed with Unleashed and Colours in terms of gameplay. But levels from SA 1 and 2 have their own section. That is good enough for me.
I wonder if there is going to be two Dr. Eggmans.
I wonder if there is going to be two Dr. Eggmans.
Nah. fun fact Robotnik was known as eggman as early as sonic the hedgehog 2.
I wonder if there is going to be two Dr. Eggmans.
I'm pretty sure one of the previews said that the classic Robotnik design would be in the classic Sonic stages, while the new Robotnik design would be in the modern stages. Still, take that with a grain of salt until I find a link.

[editline]12th June 2011[/editline]
modern sonic version looks just as cool
I'm glad they didn't puss out with the whole "GUN" thing. "GUN" is of course the acronym for Guardian Units of Nations, the global military force in the Sonic world. The acronym "GUN" is also derived from the Japanese term for military, "guntai".
I liked the name Robotnik better.
Well I remember seeing the old robotnik on the end-level sign of Classic Green Hill Zone, so there's that.
Oh yeah, I might have gotten confused with that. Still, I hope you can still fight his classic form in the classic levels. Speaking of which, in addition to Classic and Dreamcast era levels, Modern era levels will appear as well, based on Spagonia appearing at the end of that trailer.
I liked the name Robotnik better.
Well, it's his name either way. Eggman is just a shitty nickname.
Fighting about this is on the same level as arguing about green eyes and purple rocks. I think we should stop.
Fighting about this is on the same level as arguing about green eyes and purple rocks. I think we should stop.
Who was fighting?
Apparently the 3DS footage shown has Classic Sonic in a 3D remake of the first Green Hill Zone act (not just based in the environment - literally remade), while Modern Sonic... .. Plays like Sonic Rush. I think i'll be sticking to the console versions.
An entire level, Empire City, was removed as well. Hello God. I know it's been a while. I haven't really kept up with what I should have, I know, but, I just really, really want to ask a favor. Please, for the love of you, let Sega make Sonic Generations for PC too. Amen.
Speaking of which, in addition to Classic and Dreamcast era levels, Modern era levels will appear as well, based on Spagonia appearing at the end of that trailer.
I just hope they don't drag any stages from the Storybook series.
Sega is making 20th anniversary statues only 1000 will be made
