I've seen videos, and the game doesn't look bad at all. Obviously, bad in comparison to the console/PC version, but it still looks pretty enjoyable.
Modern SA1 level I can't remember the name of has a very few amount of enemies. There's stretches of literally just boosting with nothing going on. There's no real landmarks or anything special and the whale chase is 2 seconds then the goal ring.
Classic Sonic is built around the homing attack, forcing it's use unlike the 360 version.
The graphics are dull, sparce and insanely empty.
The list goes on and I'll post videos to prove it.

"vat de fuk"
"vat de fuk"
Emerald Coast seems to hate him; he died three times on the Classic act of it. :v:
Honestly, if we got better-recorded videos to look at, the 3DS version might look less 'bad'-looking, but the gameplay and levels seem pretty bland compared to the console versions in other ways too - like layouts, paths and otherwise. They've got Biolizard as a boss and Egg Emperor from Heroes as one as well, which makes me wonder if it the game got more bosses or something. Also, all the Rival fights were turned into races. That saddens me.
It seems like the 3DS version was little more than an afterthought. That's sad.

It honestly doesn't look like "trash," to me. I'd still get it. Sure, it looks a bit bland, but still fun.
Is there an unlock guide yet?
What the hell did they do to Emerald Coast... Aside from the music and the whales, I'd never guess that was the stage.

Only thing I see as a setback for this version is the fact that Modern Sonic doesn't get....well that thing with the camera, in which I don't know what it's called.
Getting this tomorrow regardless though.

This hasn't been the first time Sega got caught over with this. I remember there was another Sonic contest and the winner submitted someone else's fanart as their own and got their name credited in the next released Sonic game. It took a while for someone to notice and even then nothing really changed. Although they at least they announced a different winner for this contest. Personally I wished I could have entered but I don't even have the game.

So not only did he lie and fake his video, before making it private so no one could criticize it further (although it was too late and it got screencapped for comparisons), but as soon as he won the statue he auctioned it on eBay.
That's just dickery at its finest.

How do I contact the guy that made that thread?
I want a DLC that features gameplay similar to the dreamcast era.
Classic lacks one dimension and Modern goes too fast to allow proper 3d platform design.
Though i'm totally OK with the current design.
I just saw that the 3DS version has Mushroom Hill and Casino Night.
Now I'm mad as hell.
I would have loved it if there were 3 versions of sonic. The modern one, the classic one, and one from Sonic Adventure, which had a design between the other two.
Posted about that Sonic CD port being done (which lets you play as Tails upon beating the game once) a while back, but here's an interesting sneak peek:

They redid the menu for the port, although that could just be for the touchscreen of this version (it's coming to Xbox Live Arcade & Playstation Network as well, so who knows how similar they'll be), but the real notable thing is the intro; while the port is using the Japanese music, they went with an instrumental version of the Jap theme song "You Can Do Anything". Probably for copyright reasons involving the original singers, but in any case not too bad anyway.

Not sonic boom, not a purchase.

I can't hit agree any harder
At least it's only the instrumental version. The original is earsplitting.
[editline]22nd November 2011[/editline]
In fact I quite like this instrumental version. Still, nothing will ever beat Sonic Boom.

I hope you're joking. I prefer the NTSC-J/PAL soundtrack, could just be because I played that version first though.

Just got my 3DS version today. Not very far in, but why does Classic Sonic have the homing attack?
Giving Classic homing attack takes away the uniqueness Modern Sonic has to offer.
With this implementation, you're pretty much playing as Modern Sonic with preference of a spin dash instead of a diving kick.

The page on the Sega website mentions Steam achievements, so it's a sure thing.
