If they release SA2 on steam, we might see people crack it for level editing and modding.
I wish there were mod tools for Generations.
Or, at least, decent DLC's.
Hell I wouldn't mind some of the Sonic Unleashed daytime stages. I loved each and every one of them.

Or Starlight Carnival. I'm really surprised they didn't use that as the Colors stage.
I never played colors, but I really want to. If I had a Wii, it would be the first game I picked up.
if sa2 were on steam, let alone pc

i've never played sa.

Sonic Adventure has a shitton of nostalgia value for me (and for many others), but it really doesn't hold up. It fucking sucks, basically. The camera is shit, the only enjoyable stages are Sonic's stages which can be beaten in literally about half an hour, the "story" is... good god, it's terrible. I still love it, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone nowadays.
Now, if you didn't play SA2... THEN you're missing out.
question, does the voice acting in this sonic game make you cringe equally as much as in the previous shit 3d games?

It's marginally more bearable since it doesn't take itself very seriously, but no, the voice acting isn't much better. There's generally much less of it, though.

sonic adventure is awesome what are you talking about
yes ok the story and voice acting is shit but the gameplay sincerely is actually a nice translation of the older games. it's even better in sonic adventure 2. except for knuckles' stages.
fuck knuckles. and rouge. they can both get fucked by a shark.

Don't give the furries ideas
Apparently a demo has been released for Sonic Generations (a few days ago).
steam://install/202290
I can't seem to get it to install though.
Also, someone is working on porting Sonic Unleashed levels into the game.

Have you played it recently? Go try Lost World with Sonic. Experience the shit-tastic physics and camera. Quit it and never play again.
Sonic stages were generally enjoyable, as were Tails stages. But that's because they were just copies of Sonic stages with some parts taken out. E-102 Gamma wasn't entirely terrible, but he played like a mediocre TPS with no challenge or interesting design. Amy was annoying and boring. Knuckles was shit. And Big... well, there's a ring of Hell devoted entirely to the people that designed his stages.
I never played sa2 either.
I'm not too optimistic about that Unleashed mod.
the only good part of the sonic adventure games was raising chaos

I honestly think they threw Big and Amy in there for the hell of it. Amy with her constant pantyshots (what the fuck, Sega) and Big.. Well, he's voiced by Duke Nukem, but there's literally no appeal to him. Gamma was pretty cool, though, even if he didn't have hard levels at all.
Someone on Sonic Retro posted a rip of the Blue Blur album. It's more complete than the game rip I had from before. It includes high-quality versions of the 3DS songs.

I really hope all the new stuff on Steam means future sonic titles will be on PC too. After Generations and Colors I have newfound love and faith in the ol' hegehog.

only good thing about knuckles' stages in sa2:

This song is absolutely incredible. It's from the 3DS version and easily my favorite out of all.

It sounds like a remix between Super Meat Boy and Sonic.

- generic beat
- terrible title
- ridiculously ridiculous lyrics

how are people able to mod the game? I searched and cannot find a single mod tool
I'm getting upset. Sonic Generations is an amazing game, but I'm eager to play some new levels. The current ones are getting rather stale, and I'm considering picking up Sonic Unleashed just for the daytime stages.

Too bad you're forced to do the Night-time stages, anyway.

It was just a nice blast to the past for the 20th anniversary and it was only $30. I don't understand why people want so much content. It was more than enough for me.
