Maybe some of the textures are left over, they are using the same engine, plus levels from those games.

Yes they are, each stage has 5 acts (per Modern/Classic each) with some bonus variation (Find x Chao) optional stuff.

Holy shit that went by fast. The only issue I can seem to find is that Sonic went so fast that i couldn't take in any of the details. There's no much detail packed into the background and enemies and everything that it's kinda hard to go through the stage so fast without being able to take it all in. That's both a good thing, gameplay wise, and a bad thing, ...detail wise? Anyways, the game does feel and play like classic Sonic and the momentum is a dramatic step up from Sonic 4 which had the friction of dry ice. The music is also a perfect blend of the classic chiptunes and a few modern synths.
Man I want to play the demo but I need gold to download it.
Has anyone else noticed how [sp]pretty much all the modern levels are cities? Speed Highway, City escape, Crisis city and Rooftop run... with only the Sonic heroes and Colors levels to balance it out with some greenery.[/sp]
Not that theres anything wrong with these levels, just hope it doesnt seem a little samey with [sp]four cities pretty much in a row.[/Sp]
It's like they couldn't muster much effort for Sonic 4, which tried to be a full tribute to the original games, and now they got their shit together and decided to rock everyone's socks with Generations. It's.. Jarring. :v:
