The demo was gorgeous, but what kept me from ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT was the input lag. Downloaded the PS3 version and other people seem to have this issue, but there is a slight delay between the button press and Sonic's jump. EDIT: OH GOD YES
Well. Now I'm convinced this game can't be awful. Maybe not great. But with remixes like that, it can't possibly be awful.
All I want is a bunch of modern stages from Sonic Adventure and classic stages from Sonic 1 and 2. 3 and above had too complex levels to truly run fast. Edit: also, that music.
I tried the demo, I liked it.
Finally got around to playing the demo. So fucking good, but what's up with the 10 day limit? Are they planning on putting a new demo up for modern Sonic soon or something?
Finally got around to playing the demo. So fucking good, but what's up with the 10 day limit? Are they planning on putting a new demo up for modern Sonic soon or something?
One can only hope.
To anyone fortunate to have both an Xbox 360 and a PS3, which controller feels best with this game? I'm trying out the demo in a few days, myself.
Modern City Escape is... certainly a thing. (it's in the video obv)
So there won't be a chao garden? I'm not getting it then, I don't even like 2d sonic that much anyway, might get a lot of shit for it but all I do is hold down right and occasionally jump and/or kill and bad guy.

Seriously, if all you played Sonic Adventure 1+2 was for that, what the fuck?
Yeah, you're kind of a fucking moron if a small minigame is make or break for you, I liked it as well and spent plenty of time with it but holy shit if you're playing for that just get a tomagochi or whatever they were called. (Not saying I wouldn't mind it being in but still) Also saying you hate classic sonic's games and they're hold left and hit jump is the dumbest argument that's been disproven several times and just shows you have no idea what the hell you're talking about.
The music isn't as good as I thought it was 7 years ago... But with a little mute this will be the fucking best thing ever.
That's the remix for Modern Sonic, not the original song... The original is way better. Though I love the Classic Sonic remix. Bleh automerge.

I saw some stuff, I didn't like it, and now I know this it pushed me over. I might change my mind of course once it's out, but even if I do get it, I doubt I'll be willing to pay 60 bucks for it.
Sonic R will always be my favourite Sonic game.

I mean, I think it looks amazing, but I don't like spending $60 on any game, so I might have to wait it out for a deal, or for it to drop in price. It'd be nice if they confirmed PC, because it'd probably be cheaper.
Here's the above video in handy-dandy embed form for you lazy folk I'll have to hear the whole thing before passing judgment, but so far it's definitely inferior to Classic. It's not BAD, but classic set expectations too high.

Plus it's done by Sum 41, the original people who did it [editline]7th July 2011[/editline] HOLY FUCK SPAGONIA IN THE LAST FRAMES

I see the comments for that video.
This City Escape song is way better then the auto tune filtered version.
I still don't get why the fuck everyone is butthurt over nine seconds of autotune that is meant to be a throwback to Endless Mine.
something fucking amazing
But the original was so fast and rockin'! They could at least make something that matched it's energy and pace. This remix is like 2009 pop music one of the freshman girls would be playing in shitty quality over her phone at the lunch table because it's "so awesome everyone should hear it". Sega is now that blonde girl at lunch that's had 4 dicks in her at once and is afraid of words that have more than 3 syllables. My childhood has been remixed.

I think it's a bit of a unique take; CE 'Classic' uses the original vocals (with slight alterations) with new instrumentation and is to make fans reminisce about City Escape while guiding Classic Sonic through a whole new level layout. CE 'Modern', on the other hand, uses new vocals but the instrumentation is more familiar, as Modern Sonic dashes through definite homages to the designs of the original level itself (streetsurfing, running down the side of the building, CHAINSAW TRUCK). [editline]8th July 2011[/editline] Perhaps my biggest problem is that it seems like there's only one level a 'zone' for both characters, and if City Escape and Green Hill are anything to go by, they seem pretty damn short.
The music isn't as good as I thought it was 7 years ago... But with a little mute this will be the fucking best thing ever.
That wasn't the original track. [editline]9th July 2011[/editline]
Yeah, you're kind of a fucking moron if a small minigame is make or break for you,
I wouldn't call it a small minigame. It was the thing that motivated me the most through the game increased the replay value by 10 for me. I mean all there fans are asking for it so i dont know why sega isn't putting it in. [editline]9th July 2011[/editline]
Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were fucking incredible. They weren't perfect, but compared to the ever-increasingly large pile of festering control problems, horrible camerawork and contrived-as-fuck stories that have been modern sonic games after SA2... they were godammed incredible.
Agreed I just bought adventures 1 for the pc yesterday and even though i have to play it in a small 400X200 screen thing (I have no idea why) Its still as awesome as I remember.
I heard there are like 3-8 levels for each world
Wait does that mean 3-8 levels of City Escape or 3-8 levels of Sonic Adventure 2?
Wait does that mean 3-8 levels of City Escape or 3-8 levels of Sonic Adventure 2?
dunno, it's a guess either way
