No, you can get guns from capturing cities that already have matchlocks.
Converting basically makes them faster to recruit, and a few other bonuses.
IMO, Matchlocks are not even worth the bother of converting because of all the backlash you get from other clans for it.
By the way, what happened to the Total War megathread?

I recently replayed it. The thing that made this game awesome was how goddamn hilarious it was. In the bank mission, interrogating one guy would have Sam try and convince him that he was the landlord and the rent was overdue.

I figured out how idle animations work in Bethbryo games.
This one's Fallout 3 but I suspect this works in Fallout NV as well (and the commands probably work in Oblivion too if not the actual animations)
