And YOU have an ATI card! I can tell because I have the same stupid transparency problem with my vegetation in all my games too, does anyone know how to fix it? Most vegetation is pretty much transparent, made out of a grid of dots, basically

The fucking plane demo is amazing, I somehow managed to only clip the roof of the barn by pulling up at the last second, and it badly damaged the rear of the plane. I was still able to fly for a good 50 feet with the tail practically hanging off before I pulled up too quickly, severing it and plummeting into the ground.

Actually I used to get this with nvidia cards too, do you run the game in a window?
I believe it's something to do with the anisotropic filtering or some post process effect that only works properly when you run it in full screen, but I might be wrong

Nope, full screen, I think it's an Anti Aliasing thing. I had my AA Filter set to Edge Detect. I have 4 Filters for it, Edge Detect, Wide Tent, Narrow Tent, and Box. I set it to Box, which is the default I believe. Though I was on the Fallujah map in Arma so not much vegetation to test it, as trees don't have that problem, Only grass and small bushes

No it's the best there is. It has everything you ever need in a racing game. I'm in the same boat, only reinstalled it last year after not playing for like 4 years and it was even better than I remember it to be.
