I have yet to find a game with more innate charm than the original Spyro the Dragon trilogy (though Crash's original trilogy is about on par). If they made an HD remake of this with updated visuals and remastered sound but kept the charm, art style and level design perfectly intact...I would be willing to pay any sum of money for such a kingly gift upon the world.
Trackmania 2 is pretty.

The motion blur was a bitch to get right. It seems that the game renders the blur frame by frame from where you are in the replay until the specified end point. Since I was using free camera that was 'chasing' the car in the top pic, I had to make sure they lined up almost perfectly or else the car would get smeared by the blur too.

I'm sorry I know this all happened hours ago but was I the only one to note the sarcasm? He was making a sarcastic joke about the 'super realistic' [I]motion blur[/I].. he says that very clearly.. but then you two question if he his making fun of the game's "realism" it's self and go on explain to him that it's in the year 40k and he's a space marine?
I think he knows that, look at the screenshot and notice the horrible motion blur, that's all he meant.
I think what Take_Opal took it more in the way that Kalkka was using "realism" in his joke.

Kalkka said realistic motion blur, not game realism. there are things that make motion blur look realistic.. there are things that aren't. in-game it might look fine but it doesn't change the fact that frame by frame it's actually pretty bad.
also i'm not bashing the game at all, i'm more than happy to believe it looks fine in-game and i've yet to try the demo my self.
I was really saying that there were a bunch of other things you could pick out on their lack of realism, but you're right..
Personally though, I never experienced such motion blur.

Guy was just around that corner picking off some other guys before I took the screenshot.
He was eventually flanked by a Assault who later got shot by the sniper (same guy in top right).

But motion blur is an aesthetic feature of the game that's added just to spruce it up graphically.. motion blur doesn't "change" in real life as the years go on :p he was picking up on a technical feature of the game not the content within the game being unrealistic.
That's why I pointed out that explaining that other parts of the game are way more unrealistic is pretty irrelevant to anything he said.

Looks to me like Galactic Civilisations 2. And yes you can customise the ships quite a bit. You get basic hulls but you can add "extras" to improve the look. And then you can add engines and weapons and various other things.
