And according to Notch, the "full" game (a probably minor update with the "Beta"-text removed) will be released on 11.11.11 (same date as Skyrim).
He moved it from 11/11/11 to something else cause he wants to play Skyrim
Also, 1.8 has a lot of the stuff 1.9 was going to have, this has swamps(re-done), lots of new mobs, ALL of the terrain generation stuff, rivines,dungeons,villages,VILLAGERS,ruins. Also some new stuff, like Endermen Orbs?
