Just to clear things up, the BF3 beta only has the settings that go up to medium. So the highest settings on the beta are what the medium settings will be on the full game. So yes, it will look far better in release.
Not that i really care but people are going to be posting screenshots of the full game so i do hope they fix the shading on the character models so it doesn't look like cl_fullbright 1 on Source Engine.

Wow, i'm playing the BF3 Open Beta on Xbox and the Graphics rendering is shit, the camera keeps focusing on something underneath the map and the screen flashes green every now and then...
I know it's console and only a Beta but what?

There's no chance i'm buying Battlefield 3, i don't know how to mute people, the graphics keep glitching and i can't see shit when they do, i get killed from every direction, the iron sights block most of the screen aswell as just "hip firing" and it's laggy, i don't know if this is just console but it's pretty shit.

The cockpits are pretty low priority, since they have no function (there's a HUD, but I turned it off in those pictures). Most mechs have just plain black, though some have very detailed instruments.
