Shotguns don't shoot bullets.

Look up how the P90 mag works and you'll see where they got their inspiration.
Also how are you building rides on that, i can't build rides at all and the game is so damn awkward to use for me.

There's a difference between a video and a Gif, with a video i have the option to let it play.
Rage looks like borderlands before it went all cartoony and cell shaded.
I still have that issue of game informer.
Mafia 2 load. Haven't done one in a while.

Not to be an ass but, by coming to a thread based around image/gif/video uploads one would expect the size/loading times of said items... But hey that's just me.
I agree when it comes to keeping .gifs sensible and fuck bitmaps but if you really have bandwidth problems or your connection is stuck in the nineties this isn't the thread for you.

that's the joke buddy
Borderlands looks like RAGE.
they were making RAGE before Borderlands even happened.

Which was announced first? Which came out 3 years before the other? Which is, despite all its flaws, a decent game? Protip: It ain't Rage.

[sup][sup]And yet, the textures are much better in borderlands[/sup][/sup]
I love how CD Projekt systematically patched out everything that was wrong with this game like the weird difficulty curve and (more importantly) the letterboxing. They're like the only dev who realized what a bad design decision it is.

Also it has the best particle effects I have ever seen in a videogame. The only visual flaws are the deferred shading making it impossible to implement true AA, meaning jaggies are still a bit noticeable even with the shader AA option on, and also the shadows' tendency to bug out and looking weirdly like a grid (I think this is a result of two or more shadows meeting, it's not a huge problem for me but it is noticeable).

People rag on borderlands for being cartoony but that look is a real asset, the textures still look good rather than the entire world being lowres like RAGE.
god i loved fighting the wraiths and that dude you get the [sp]standard[/sp] from in the "caves."
[QUOTE=Watevaman;32629814]god i loved fighting the wraiths and that dude you get the [sp]standard[/sp] from in the "caves."[/QUOTE]
Talking of wraiths, the ones in the abandoned hospital near flotsam (I have a screenshot of it in my post) were damn near impossible to kill on my first playthrough. I don't know if it's a balance patch or whether I'm just better at the game but the fight is so much more fair now.
I've turned on Ubersampling, time to fire it up and watch my PC cry.
Successful KF game, on a Red Orchestra map, I guess somebody converted it.

HOly shit, I actually see a difference.

Basically it performs the jobs of AA and AF (Removing jaggies and making textures look better) while somehow making the lighting look even better. Shame it halves my FPS (I get about 50 without it on and 20 with it on). Shame they didn't release a DX11 version, I hear DX11 allows you to use conventional AA with deferred shading.
TBH I absolutely love Witcher 2 with SSAO off. The SSAO in the game is so ugly and misplaced half of the time. I think it looks better with it off despite the SSAO being really well optimized and stable

It looks nice most of the time. Occasionally you get a weird black corona around things but for the most part it gives objects a sense of 'place'. Besides, I've messed around with Oblivion shader mods and have seen the worst SSAO has to offer.

the lighting in Witcher 2 is done well enough that most items stick out without having a sense of flatness in them. The argument will go back and forth, though, but hey, that doesn't stop the 2.0 update from being THE BEST
playing it again on dark difficulty right now and am loving it (loving it as in HATING IT SO MUCH OH MY GOD DIE ALREADY)
While this engine is amazing for consoles it's almost completely worthless on PC. Dynamic quality options make me want to punch carmack in the face. The game only uses about 35% of ONE of my video cards and most of the time looks hideous due to inconsistent AA and textures that seem to never sharpen up.

Regardless, how does it play Brt?

Now for a good PC port. Human revolution with ENBSeries, I had a test play of it and it works really well, and actually eliminates some of the stuttering issues. Only works with the DX9 renderer but you gain far more than you lose, the worst you lose being tesellation, which isn't all that noticeable.

Some of the effects look a bit ropey but they're still leaps and bounds ahead of vanilla and the colour correction is executed perfectly.

I think that what ID were banking on is that people didn't realize that whatever method you use to texture the level gemoetry, if the texture itself is badly made/low resolution then it will still look like shit.
I think the entire idea of dynamic graphics is completely useless. If your PC can't run the game, it can't run the game. If you can run it, then it's pretty easy to find whatever settings you prefer, the computer doesn't need to do it for you.
