Character models and everything over 10m away on RAGE look great, if nothing else iD nailed the artstyle. Shame about it being a fiarly generic shooter. Oh yeah, and the animations are really good too.

Any closer than 10m and you see that the megatexture they use for the world looks lowres and flat.
From everyone's screenshots, Rage is NOT living up to the graphical hype what so ever
if what Brt said is true and they do release that 25 GB texture pack, the game will look ridiculous

Well, haven't played it, but regardless of the raw graphical quality, the environments do look pretty inspired.
the environments themselves are really really well done. the only bad thing about the game is the low resolution textures. the really nice thing about rage is the coloring and shading. the lighting, despite baked in most cases is really good and the big rocky canyons casting shadows on everything really sets a great atmosphere on top of just wonderful shading in general. the rocks all stand out everywhere you go and everywhere you look always has tons of pretty little things to look at so long as you stand four meters away.

First Steam game that I bought. Receiving CS:CZ for Christmas is probably the primary reason why Im here. It got me interested in valve and the half life franchise and so on.
I loved and missed that game so much. I mostly played on a 24/7 custom cs_assault maps server. Shit was so cash.
So I went to the tailors and let my super group decide (by tells so no one knew what others had chosen) what my character's new costume would look like.
I dont recommend doing that.
