There are some small graphical things that annoyed me, like what you just mentioned.
I honestly they would make the game look good from afar, but those tree sprites are the worst eyesore i've seen in the game.
Other than that, the game is solid.

Eh, I'm too used to RPGs that look like ass without mods.
Besides, Bethesda improved [I]a lot[/I] in every department. We could of had another Oblivion-quality RPG, both in gameplay and graphics.

They improved, sure, but the graphics and animations are still pretty outdated.

Uh, no, the animations are just fine and so are the graphics. This game passes as any other modern game would, wanna bash on something? Look at MW3.
While the new camera system is technically better, I preferred it when it zoomed in on the face. I hope there's a mod that creates a happy medium between the two.
