No, not anymore, since they didn't allow anyone to run it at max settings. They took away a lot of detail.
Because everybody could run it in Medium, and it does not look bad in medium. But people were complaining about it "running like shit" on maximum settings, which were designed for the best computers out there and not the standard settings like your usual console port.
So they had to worsen the texture quality a lot. Now you can run it on Ultra or whatever. It just looks like the high settings from before, but people can say they run it on max settings.

Well, last time i played it ( 2 months ) it was horrendous.
Was playing on max of course, but i got 2 X 580's and a 2600K. And i was not alone in this case, lot of people with 590 and huge rigs had terrible issues with this game. [B]So i guess [I]" designed for the best computers "[/I] is just some classic bad dev' bullshit and you fell in it.[/B]

Why is it that in all of your JA2 screenshots your guys are always standing? Do you play with 1.13 mod? Unless traveling or sprinting from cover/away from the battle, my guys are practically always prone or crouched.

I disagree completely there. I paid $50 for it and although I probably would've liked it to be $30, it was still totally worth it.
Only thing that pisses me off is the MP was never really popular, despite being amazing to play.

Yeah, I have 1.13. And, well, crouching/going prone doesn't really matter in night-time fights, since you have to be pretty close to the enemy to even see them. And I don't really use the prone/crouch functions (apart from when I have to snipe at extreme ranges with an anti-materiel rifle), I don't really know why.

I only got it for Christmas, and play on medium. I have no idea what it was like at release.
My specs are:
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.66GHz
6GB DDR3 RAM
AMD HD Radeon 4890
It pulls about 50-60fps with occasional drops, seemingly dependent on the map. Doesn't get rid of the enjoyment though :smile:

They might not be as slow as you think. A lot of browsers seem to run Gifs a lot slower than they are meant to appear.
Gifs that seemed to be so slow in Firefox for some reason run fine in Internet Explorer. However, that's just my observation.

You probably just set the framerate quite high. Set it to about 15-20.

I would be prepared to love it if the combat and gun-play wasn't as terrible and if they actually made some effort to balance the weapons.
