If you're running FFDshow, go to the codecs section, and set FPS/Fraps to Disabled. Should fix it.

So, was playing some Sacrifice tonight. Things started to go downhill right about here.

If you're using FRAPS and running a super-high Resolution, it's a good idea to use "Half-Size" if you plan on making a .gif
That and saving videos onto a external hard-drive helps.
