makes it SO much better

Dude your processor is at 81C?
That's RIDICULOUSLY hot for a processor... I get worried when mine hits 55C and I'm pretty sure mine would shut itself off if it hit 65C. Hell my 5750 under full intense load with anything has never hit 81C. You NEED to get that looked at, immediately

if need be i can always just pick up another 6970 and a 2500k, that should be enough for high-ish at around 60 fps

You know, at first, I really wasn't interested in BF3. It looked nice, but I had gotten sick of it's sort of game.
But now that I've seen the Alpha videos, I'm actually kinda hyped. I love the environments, I love the sound design, I love the graphics (Even though I'll probably still chug at lowest settings, my processor being an unbelievably shitty AMD Athlon X2 4450e @ 2.1 GHz :v:), I love the animations, and the gameplay looks so goddamn fluid. The re-addition of prone is also very welcome.
I know I'll suck, but I still think I'll have lots of fun.

Don't worry about the graphics. All my BF3 vids are in 1080p on Low, which is the lowest for the Alpha and it still looks amazing!
And the "Alpha" just doesn't look great.
