Damn, now those shit voices be back
This game requires steam right? Because I'm planning on buying it off of gamer's gate.
So as a huge fan of Postal 2, should I buy this game?

From pics and videos it might seem good, but trust me it isn't. I've tried it. It's fun for the first 15 minutes and after that the enjoyment level goes way down hill.

If you are having trouble with that level the trick is to find a intersection and spray a small spot of catnip on the ground. Not on the cats (as i was originally and running out of catnip :V). The cats then come over to find the catnip and you can easily fight off the mexicans, if the patch dissappears, move elsewhere where you see cats roaming around. Patience is the key.
The third-person perspective is a little weird and makes it difficult to aim with melee and your urine stream, I would have preferred to play in first-person.
now, i haven't tested this, but since it's a source game, shouldn't typing 'firstperson' in the console work?
now, i haven't tested this, but since it's a source game, shouldn't typing 'firstperson' in the console work?
first person is third person view apparently. typing "thirdperson" flips the camera upsidedown and stuffs up look.
I was thinking just that. It's source, and from what I've seen, the graphics look pretty damn nice. I always liked the color palate of source. Edit: Interesting.
wait.... how do I buy this game? [editline]27th December 2011[/editline] Best page king ever. How the fuck does valve suck so badly that I can't buy through steam? First they fuckup the DoD dlc release and now they're 5 days late on Postal 3?
this game looks badass is it badass

You have to buy it through their site, and then wait for someone to manually email you a key to redeem on Steam.

[sp]i think someone has already said this but yeah[/sp]
That is footage from the retail game, but it should be noted that's the initial Russian release with shoddy Russian dubbing. A rather extensive patch was released soon after and that's what the rest of the world received on the 22nd along with the proper English dub. Also, the guy playing is some Hungarian dude who clearly cannot read Russian, hence why he seems to be going well out of his way to not do what the on-screen tips explicitly tell him. You even see him skipping the cut scene that shows Ron Jeremy's porn shop being invaded by hockey moms, so he doesn't known what to do and just sits upstairs cluelessly firing soiled rags at masturbating men. Also also, while not particularly relevant, that guy is obviously playing a pirated copy of the game as his whole channel is blatantly dedicated to playing warez. All in all, that video is not a very good or fair representation of the game. Not to toot my own horn, but I happened to record my own marginally less clueless gameplay video that isn't from the very beginning tutorial mission: There's no free roaming in the sense that there's an open hub world where you travel to each of your missions a la Postal 2. However, I think most people are forgetting the fact that, while the hub in Postal 2 was free roam, many of the actual missions/chores themselves were self-contained linear levels. Postal 3 can be seen as a continuous series of those types of missions, sharing a lot in common with Postal 2's expansion Apocalypse Weekend. However, just because there's no free roam doesn't mean Postal 3 doesn't offer freedom. There are two branching paths in the game, good and evil. You are never bound to any one path as your a your actions in the current level determine where you're headed next. There are unique maps, characters, battles, and outcomes in each, so you'll definitely have to play through the game more than once to experience everything (unless you manage some completely bipolar good/evil progression, which is a Steam achievement!). That's a heck of a lot of content to explore through. Chiding Postal 3 for a lack of true free roam is a valid criticism, but free roam by itself is not the be all, end all of a fun Postal game.
Thanks for the video, it's very different from how the other Russian videos showed it off. I'm really tempted to buy it.
Apparently they're planning to add some sort of free roam thing? Atleast that's what I've heard.
Instant-buy then.
I find that the third person view makes the game a little stale for some reason.
Too bad it's made by incrediby shit russian developers. [editline]28th December 2011[/editline] (Akella)
Too bad it's made by incrediby shit russian developers. [editline]28th December 2011[/editline] (Akella)
Akellas made some good games. Then again you have to take that with a mindset that going in you'll be getting a shitty product like most russian games. It's like a politician. A couple of good points here and there with 40 bad ones all stacked up.
Anyone want to give me a hand? I try launching the game but it just doesn't work, steam says I'm in game and task manager shows that P3.exe is running but the game just won't work.
Okay I got it to work and I'm having fun but it's running strangly bad and I'm on a laptop that's supposed to be considered pretty beefy.
Okay I got it to work and I'm having fun but it's running strangly bad and I'm on a laptop that's supposed to be considered pretty beefy.
In my experience, computers made of beef are not very effective. Not just limited to beef either, surprisingly most meats do not make great materials for making a computer.
The voice, the voice, the voice. God what a massive turn off the voice is. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but the game won't be the same without the old P. Dude's voice.
FUCK* THEM, WE NEED TO STAND AGAINST THE NEW WORLD ORDER I AINT GONNA GET A FUCKING CHIP INSIDE OF ME!!!!
When i first loaded up the game GameInfo.txt failed to be read so i had to copy p3_english into p3 and then find a english textfile language pack. But other than that its working quite fine.
People ported over and released the models already way back when the russian version came out.
I found a model pack but I don't think the gibs are in it. That's mainly what I'm looking for. Hell if I get the money soon I'll probably end up buying it anyway and I'll port it myself.
I was watching a walk through and at the start of every map, it says node graph out of date, rebuilding. That gave me a good chuckle. Aside from that, the game does have a nice color palate but I won't buy it, it just doesn't seem fun and has tons of glitches.
Can't rollover later levels with just a machete anymore.
If you look in the level select menu, theres some thing called #roam_hub1_desc which may be something related to freeroam
