daud is a great character to play as. much better than dunwall's most boring man (and that's saying something): corvo

why did they go for american accents in this, btw? most of the characters look like right cockney geezers or 19th century tory mps. doesn't fit, to my mind
[editline]18th April 2013[/editline]
whereas most the characters sound like they're primed to unironically say "no way? way!"

As a Brit the change in accents in the DLC was really obvious and sometimes jarring.

Having played through the main game, with all the characters having pretty good english accents of some sort, that is.
KoD was fun, but I really wasn't expecting it to end that quickly. Once [sp]your assassin bro turns on you[/sp], I was expecting to be about halfway done with it. Then the credits started rolling.
Dishonored has always been about the missions for me though. Even if there's no story connected to what I'm doing, I'm totally fine just going up and assassinating some guy as long as the level is long, has branching paths, and is fun.

what do you mean? they were all american. slackjaw was the closest anyone got to an english accent
Gristol isn't meant to be an expy of the British Isles, it's meant to be one of North America. Morley is the British expy (well, Gaelic, but you know what I mean)

they all use british phrases, the designers went to england so they could record what british faces looked like, it's an industrial empire renowned for it's navy, the soldiers wear red coats, it has a parliament with a prime minister, it is a constitutional monarchy. it's britain/england.
and morley is supposed to be scotland/ireland
[sp]Well Knife of Dunwall ended pretty damn abruptly. Is there going to be a follow up DLC or is that it?[/sp]

[sp]there is a follow-up called the brigmore witches[/sp]
Can someone explain this image? I've never seen it happen in Knife of Dunwall:

[sp]it's a granny rags mission in the legal district. you have to go into a room through balcony doors on the waterfront where there's an outsider shrine. then you get the mission to steal a playing card from timsh's mansion, take it to another outsider shrine, cut yourself over it, and then burn it in timsh's fire to get a rune[/sp]
this thread really doesnt see enough use, and i think that's tragic
Going lethal is pretty fun after doing non-lethal in both the DLC and my first run through the regular game. It feels like you just miss out on so many of the abilities and items if you're doing non-lethal complete stealth.
I really take my time with this DLC (stealth, exploration and non-lethal as much as possible), only managed to beat the first level and started second. But I'm pretty sure if you go straight to the objective you can beat it very quickly.
I didn't find one safe combination in the first level.
[sp]It's in the first map, officer building I think. Apparently some Jack changed the combination but I couldn't find it.[/sp]
Also some great lines.
"Whiskey and cigars. Is there anything else you think about?"
"Sir, congratulations."
"What for?"
"For getting a new squad."
The Knife of Dunwall DLC is pretty awesome, though wish it was longer
I thought I was in another thread for a second, so I managed to read some spoilers for the DLC. God damnit.
Anyway, do you guys think its worth buying? Is the gameplay of it as good as/better than the game itself?

I think it's worth getting. Daud's way better than corvo.

Gameplay wise it's no different. And Daud barely says anything outside cutscenes so it doesn't even feel like you're playing as someone else.
Okay, gonna try a proper speedrun of KoD, aiming for less than an hour.
Done. Twenty-Five minutes and Five seconds.
The only difference is Blink now freezes time if you stay still. Because of it you have enough time to make your teleport destination. They added few new gadgets but I think a non-lethal stealth player don't really need them. Also patrols have much less blind spots now.
Finished it, [sp]Shame they have to make a DLC to continue the DLC[/sp]

I demand video proof, mostly because it would be awesome to see.
I'm having trouble loading up the last third chapter/level. I get the score page for the second chapter and while the last loads it crashes. I tried verifying files, didn't help.

I fucked up a bit, but I could totally livestream it, try and get a better time.
Hokay, let's do this:

I'll be starting in like 10 minutes.

Same thing happened for New Vegas dlcs
I like how you can float midair if you stop pressing movement keys using daud's blink.

Dude, when I said I demanded video proof I was joking. I didn't want you to give yourself an aneurysm. I beleive that you can do it even if you did panic, your time wasn't bad either. I mean 27 minutes, it's hardly a lot of time lost.

Is anyone else getting this with tons of images? Verifying the files didn't fix it.
Same thing happened for New Vegas dlcs
Really? I must have missed the part where I had to buy Dead Money part 2 to access the second half of the story.
Yeah, 27 minutes is fast, but I want to get my time down to at least 20 mins. Gonna keep practising at it.

There was an interconnecting storyline across them, but the individual stories weren't like that.
