this feels like something I would expect from ea or capcom, not arkane/bethesda
Why are the butcher textures so low res even on max settings?
I managed to fix my problem and finished the DLC. First chapter is the best I think, cool locations, new enemies and whales. Second is okay, although it was a bit generic it does give you a choice of whatever approach you desire. Last mission is more of a test if you can get non-lethal and ghost otherwise it's very short. Story-wise for me Daud doesn't feel better than Corvo, I actually felt I should have been killing more given his nature. Delilah isn't really explained much, too. Here's hoping she's more of a character next time. And the [sp]betrayal was poorly executed.[/sp]

Which is a bit weird and never really explained. "uuuh the empress was different when i killed her because she was an empress and killing her was different to killing people who are not the empress and killing her was different because she was the empress and that was different". Still better than corvo though.
This game is absolutely amazing, it makes me sad how most people I know never played it and some never even heard of it.

Killing the empress was different because then the regent got to power and everything went to shit.
surely the empress is not the first not-corrupt politician he's killed
Yeah but killing them had only minor consequences.

having trouble getting the achievement for ghost. i seem to remember there was some glitch concerning it, anyone know what the problem is?
Beat KoD and I'm honestly not sure how I feel about it. Exploring Dunwall again was fun, but [sp]Delilah's presence wasn't that intriguing and the twist at the end felt rather contrived due to the DLC's length.[/sp] I tried to go for the good ending ([sp]blowing up the factory may have prevented this[/sp]) but going nonlethal doesn't fit Daud's character at all even for an assassin who is trying to redeem himself. At least in the original campaign you aren't hampered by the motives of the character you're playing. You're presented with a blank slate named Corvo who may try to go after his enemies with vengeance or clear his name without spilling blood. Because of this KoD just left me dissatisfied with my efforts regardless of which ending I strove for.
I've just beaten my hard Daud The Killer Shadow playthrough. Except for the last part where I tried it but the patrol paths overlap too much. The boss fight was a bit easy once I decided I would use my crossbow rather than fight with swords. [sp]Also what's the more "good" solution to the first mission? Blow up the slaughterhouse or interrogate the owner and then send him away?[/sp]

Well, [sp]if you just leave him in the chair and he gets out he will continue to treat his workers like shit. With him gone the workers can go work to a better employer, Ramsay I think he's called. So far in my 2 playthrough I went with blowing up the slaughterhouse. I didn't expect the woman to kill him if you leave the room. During the second time I let them see me and doing that starts a cutscene after which he runs away and you have to chase him. I guess if you sent him away workers will be treated better, too.[/sp]
Is the DLC really worth the $10? As in REALLY worth it?
I bought the DLC, have been playing for 3-5 hours and still only completed 2 first levels. First I completed them normally and then restarted to complete with Ghost and no kills + trying to find all the loot.
Is the DLC really worth the $10? As in REALLY worth it?
No not at all It's short as hell even counting multiple playthroughs
No not at all It's short as hell even counting multiple playthroughs
Multiple playthroughs can get you 6-8 hrs of gameplay, which isn't that bad for $10. I played it again and it's starting to grow on me. The only things bugging me are the bone charms they give you. Most of them are useless.
Same thing happened for New Vegas dlcs
um no? there were overarching themes and hints of a story in the DLCs but they worked perfectly fine on their own, don't talk shit
If you really loved the game, the DLC is an okay price. But this DLC is basically more of the same game, so if you weren't super keen on it to begin with, wait for sales.

I did 2 playthroughs, got 8 hours out of it.
I will never get sick of this game. I love blinking around and cutting bitches up. Throwing their bodies off rooftops and watching them splat on the ground. Gibbing people into walls with the wind power. This game gives me such a fucking murder boner.
I got around 9 hours with my 2 playthroughs of the DLC. Most of that time is from my first run where I explored every corner of the map and tried getting ghost and non-lethal. I'm pretty sure my second run took half maybe less. I was actually pretty lucky with bone charms in this DLC. I always found Blood Ox Heart and Spiritual pool, once even Strong Hands, arguably the best ones. As for the price, it's really more of the same. Unlike The Missing Link for DE:HR which felt really fresh. 10 dollars/euros isn't that much, so if you like the game and want to support it go with the full price. And I have to admit, those mines are actually very cool.
wow, incredibly disappointed on this dlc. i got 2 hours of gameplay out of it, cant believe i paid 10€ for it
The DLC was good, it just felt a bit rushed
It suffered from being quite clearly half a story. The next half is coming out later this year
i think id have rather waited for them to release it all as one thing. but im not really sure. might have been cheaper, but at least i get half of it earlier
