Oh, I should mention the Shalebridge Cradle level in Theif 3, supposidly one of the scariest levels done in a video game Its not exactly a horror game, but the level is supposidly very scary.
Third game/expansion isn't really scary though, [sp]just a bunch of puzzles, no enemy encounters.[/sp] The first two are amazing though. Still haven't finished overture, only black plague. :v:
I haven't played all of Amnesia, but I have played some of it and gotten reasonably far and I haven't encountered anything 'alive', there were some scary moments, but most of the time they were just 'SURPRISE! Scared you!" kinds of scary, and it was different in Black Plague and Overture, you actually saw the creepy things, and communicated with people somewhat. I also think the environment in Amnesia was too light hearted, not as scary as the Penumbra games. You also experienced 'chase' scenes in Penumbra, which were really scary and immersive.
Played Penumbra: Overture few days ago. 8 hours straight, at night, no lights, headphones I regret everything Was awesome [editline]4th January 2012[/editline]
I have played all of Frictional Games' games, Fear series (3rd one was poop), Condemned, Fatal Frame, Silent Hill (2nd is favorite game of all times), Afraid of Monsters, everything. Does anyone know an extremely scary PC title I am extremely desperate.
Nightmare house 1 and 2 are pretty scary

But if you were spotted in Penumbra (Black Plague mainly) there was no escape unless you went through a loading door or something.
