Uh, guys... that's an Inquisitor. Holding a Chaotic Tome of some sort.

LAZY MARINES STRIKE AGAIN?!
Sweet Emperor the Grey Knights are badasses.
You can use something else as a mount and make it count as a biker, although you may not be allowed to do that in official tournaments. What's good and what's bad really depends on what army you will be going against, so building an army suitable against most things would be a good idea.
Using normal acrylic paints is your problem. Games Workshop (Or any sort of similar paint) is a different sort of paint made specifically for the purpose of painting the models.
i talked with friend over at the store and he said that some people have made stupider conversations and that they just like it when people do silly things so i think it will be ok here and yes i think that makes alot of sense and today i had fight against other space marines but not regular ones but knightly marines
i had terminator chaplain and two tactical squads filled to brim and he had two very small squads of some super space marine and at first i put my tactical squads in group of five in four groups and advanced with two with flamers and hero and used missile marines to shoot from distance and i rolled good dices and killed one squad but his turn he killed one group of my units and then my turn i failed all rolls and next he killed another squad but in the end i win with next turn i shoot with missiles and also with chaplain who took out hero of his and it was a lot of fun but i wanted to use my terminators next fight so we decided tomorrow we play bigger points we only played 500 today but 750 tomorrow.
he also said that hero librarian is much better for smaller games and i said ok but i didnt have hero but he gave me small pieces so that i can build one for only a small price and i will paint tomorrow so you can see
i read games workshop paint is also acrylic but maybe they have more water in mix and i should maybe do same and painting with more water in color helped i think, is the spray games workshop make also better because spray i have is bad and is really watery and stuff
i have also built more tactical marines and i hope you guys will like them too, i made pictures smaller in both high and width so that it doesnt become too much pictures for you all

I would be better without the hat, the blue/white robe (doesn't go with the armor at all), the Purity Seal cape and the overly huge shinguards. Seriously, why do you need a tower shield and both legs?

I think they look good, nice posing, pretty cohesive throughout the unit, they'll look even better as a group I'd imagine. I love the guy with the missile launcher. Just keep on those mold lines, they ruin otherwise nicely posed models.
I decided I should go ahead and ask despite the newbieness of the question. Is it better to paint the model after you build it or could you paint each individual piece then put it together?
FUCK YES. My dad went to the LGS to pick up some primer and another pot of red. They gave him half of the GK black box, so we got a free Dreadknight.
[editline]13th January 2012[/editline]
and also, I would build then paint.
If a package with paint arrives with a pot open and the paint partially spilled, do you think that GW would issue a replacement? ( My asurman blue wash, nooo )

I personally prefer to paint then build because I'm a perfectionist and hate to be able to see unpainted portions of a model if I pick them up and scrutinize. A lot of people prefer and advise to build then paint, though.

They look pretty good, but there's a few "scars" on the marines, like the guy with the flamer. Hopefully this will disappear after you color them.
Here's a good tutorial if you want to paint white armor. Some of the early basecoats seem a bit difficult but hopefully it should help you:

I didn't even notice the Purity seals or the shinguards, but if you remove all that it's just a normal suit of powermour with a different set of pauldrons.
My plan is to buy an ISU-152 and build it into a kayos vindicator.

Thats some excellent conversions you have, only critescism I can give is file the the messy bits and if you feel like it drill out the barrels on the bolters.
Also, today I used a 1750 pt Ghazkull Ork army and absolutely beat the crap out of my opponent.

I am never leaving with out this guy now for my Ork army. The model isn't finished because I rushed to get it painted for the match. You can see that some of the plastic is pretty piss poor and it shows.
The look on the face of my opponent as a third of his army was destroyed by a 20pt upgrade on the Battlewagon was priceless.

Only one of them is remotely converted, the last one, albeit it seems just like an arm adjustment.
The main colours for my Tau are going to be Enchanted Blue cloth and Chaos Black armour. What washes should i use?
Just bought Hero of the Imperium and Defender of the Imperium along with my friend's book. hell yeah
The main colours for my Tau are going to be Enchanted Blue cloth and Chaos Black armour. What washes should i use?
Blue washes?
Blue washes?
Asurmen Blue for the cloth, or if you want it a little darker a 1:1 mix of badab black and asurmen blue.
Asurmen Blue... Oh ^ that.

thank you i really am glad you like conversions i make and i will file when i get good file thats small and not big like current one i have it works for filing down when all separate but not together as smaller spaces, how can i drill out barrels?
[editline]14th January 2012[/editline]
Only one of them is remotely converted, the last one, albeit it seems just like an arm adjustment.
yeah most changes now are just smaller changes on arms, i think making smaller adjustments and only give it colorful taste on pose change is better now when i still am new
i did make a conversion thats big where he looks like running it kinda looks silly but also cool and i will get pictures later today to show
I'd rather see painted models than gray plastic figures
There's been really nothing special about the models so far, at least when they're painted people can offer advice
Drilling the barrels; find/buy a hobby drill. It's a little pen sized manual drill.
[editline]14th January 2012[/editline]
And me being honest about conversions. The last one's arm doesn't look very good with whatever that stuff is. Your mold line cleaning (which can be done with an x-acto) either is lacking completely or not very good. You know about the filing issue.
Here's my painted Flesh Tearer. It still needs decals and basing.
I was a bit iffy about posting this. I didn't really like the paint job myself. I'll try to take a better picture tomorrow, if you want.

Pretty decent paintjob, although you could really use a contrast colour that works as an eye catcher in the centre of the model. I suggest painting the release button on his jump pack harness gold or something similar. It would improve the general feel of the model a lot.

I have really been feeling like getting the finecast Ghazzy model to convert into a regular mega armoured Ork Warboss for my Kuld of Speed warband. I would cut off the horns like you already have, replace the bosspole with something a little more discrete, and add some extra glyphs and gubbins to his armour.
Just bought Hero of the Imperium and Defender of the Imperium along with my friend's book. hell yeah
If I'd have known how many times Sandy Mitchell uses the same phrase over and over and over in his books, then I'd probably have never bought them.
Nah in all seriousness they're a great read, just get ready for every other paragraph to end with "If I had known what was waiting for me I never would have ____" I'm currently trying to finish off Defender of the Imperium so I can make a start on Eisenhorn.
I've been trying to draw Space Marines for close to five years. They're possibly the most difficult thing to draw, ever.
I'm simmering with rage right now.
Played a small guard game with my friend.
Ended in a draw.
My one scoring unit was a heavy weapon team that rolled a 4 instead of a 6 to run.
So close to the point...
It was particularly funny when his heavy weapon team never hit anything in all 6 turns.
I remember playing against a guy in my early teens who fielded a space marine army. He converted his assault marines so that they were all holding pitchforks or torches as close combat weapons, and made his guys' armour appear like it was made of patchwork and named his Force Commander 'Farmer Ted', and his army 'Farmer Ted's Crazy Peasants'. I met him again a few weeks later and he'd got some Grey Knights too who he'd also peasant-ified and labelled them the Armoured Nuns.
Incidentally I've gone through both Space Wolf Omnibus'. Cracking read, though the last two by Lee Lightner I didn't enjoy nearly as much as those by King, Sons of Fenris more than the other because of some dialogue quiffs, i.e.
I will not hear that from someone who let his world fall to Chaos
just doesn't sound right. I know it's an alias for two different writers but come on surely he/they could have come up with some better dialogue.
I also didn't much like the last book of the Grey Knights omnibus, though I didn't really think much of Dead Sky Black Sun and the book immediately following that either so I guess it's really more of an issue with content than anything.
Bought Deliverance Lost, Age of Darkness and Imperial Glory a few days ago but haven't got round to reading them. Are they any good or have I wasted my Waterstones card?
