I can relate, my streaming is immense compared to most people, I can hold 220bpm for 300 notes or so on an average day. I wouldn't recommend you try to stream fast/long until you are quite accurate, it's useless if you can't follow the maps (freedom dive is taunting me so much)
Also for the rest of the thread I propose we badger orkel into playing standard again.

if you have a mouse or tablet to plug in it should be fine, a good friend of mine used to use his laptop with mouse and he could click at silly speeds with it. Also you shouldn't care about score, farming top 40 ranks is so easy to do but it's no fun, people know how good you are just by looking.

I guess I should play this, all these terms are reminding me of when I was learning lua and visited the lua subforum, you all sounds like geniuses in here.
I've been playing a lot of Osu! lately. I'm a lot better then when I first started playing, but there's still a lot of maps I can't beat at all.

I alternate between z and x for every note and I don't suffer much accuracy loss at all, though I still tend to double tap z or x for certain fast notes due to it being far quicker

I still don't understand how people can say that's easier, streaming normally is far easier for me; I couldn't hold over 210 when double tapping. Some people double tapping is cheap, I think it's just another skill to be learnt, it seems to fuck peoples accuracy up though.
double tap's better for double notes, like note note note-note note

Would you guys suggest doing the switch from a mouse to a tablet? I have one here that I could use but it feels so different.

I would suggest it myself if you have a tablet, it can be hard to start but make sure you use a good tablet area size

Anyone who says tablet isn't better for this game is lying. There is no denying it, tablet has a higher skill cap.
With that said you can be good at mouse, kriers, doomsday, keigoclear, gladiool and silvia all use mouse (kriers even uses mouse to click). Really the top end of mouse is keigoclear and silvia, if you want to see the highest anyone has achieved with it check them out but then again just look at cookiezi, niko-, wobeinmacao, whitewolf, rucker and tom94. I used to think there were more tablet players because people who seriously wanted to improve just bought a tablet but that really isn't the case.

I used to play full area with a small window but I can't really do that anymore because of my resolution
I play equally well with both tablet and mouse. A little better at jumping with tablet but other than that, it's about the same
