because I forgot I still had it set to record the mouse by accident, and whenever I have to sit through a replay to record a mania song I always dawdle around and try to avoid the notes falling down. It's pretty fun tbh.

yea for normal songs it's a pretty easy bullet hell, and certainly more entertaining than waiting for the song to end so I can stop recording.
turn on DT on an insane song with a fast approach rate and it's pretty hard though. Just turn on Auto/Random/DT on an expert level song and it's basically a bullet hell.
not like there's any points or way to tell if you actually hit anything.

osumania is IMO a lot harder to get started in than standard.
For now just practice finger independence and keep playing

after you have your fingers subconciously mapped to the keys, it's pretty easy. It helps quite a lot if you've played other similar rhythm games in the past. It's just a steep cliff of difficulty until you get to that point though; you need to motivated in order to even get past the first steps in mania. The same goes for Taiko.
Standard doesn't really have that, because pretty much anyone that would play the mode already knows how to use a mouse, from there you just need to get better at using a mouse (or switch to a tablet).

basically just the default keybind
4K: DFJK
5K: DF[SPACE]JK
6k: SDFJKL
7K: SDF[SPACE]JKL
8K: ASDFJKL;
i also have [G] bound to the center key, so that I can hit either [space] or [G] interchangeably. Although I never really hit [G] anymore. I tried to have it set to [G]/[H] when I first started, but that was just confusing.
I also exclusively hit [space] with my left thumb, because that's how i've always typed. I never hit it with my right thumb.
Apparently that's weird too. I remember ages ago on another forum people looked at me funny for using my left thumb for some reason

I think the ridiculous difficulty might be exactly why it's unranked.
try playing with a faster approach rate. Sometimes it helps me play better since I'm not getting bombarded with so many notes on the screen
