I can't seem to find any good easy-normal mania 7 key songs. [editline]23rd September 2013[/editline] Actually stuff it, I've decided to switch to 6 keys. That space bar is so stressful when it comes to streaming notes.
man i haven't played mania in about a week and now i'm terrible :(
I can't seem to find any good easy-normal mania 7 key songs. Maybe try using a different hand for the spacebar instead of whichever one you were using. easy 7k songs (in order of difficulty i guess) http://osu.ppy.sh/b/243966 - No background, but very easy map overall http://osu.ppy.sh/b/280138 - Nice slow song, so should be easy enough http://osu.ppy.sh/b/243830 - Keysounded NM, might be difficult to time correctly but it's slow. http://osu.ppy.sh/b/271371 - This is a faster song, so the EZ/NM might be harder http://osu.ppy.sh/b/302501 - Normal is ~equal/harder than NM above http://osu.ppy.sh/b/272749 - EZ might be harder than NM above, and NM is def harder
I've been using 7 keys for ages now. 6 keys is more fun. [editline]27th September 2013[/editline] I'll play with both 7k and 6k, I'm not going to bust my ass trying to get good at 7 keys though.
I've kinda gotten into Taiko and can already do easy and average Muzukashii difficulties, though I can barely find any good Taiko songs that have Muzukashii as an option. Could anyone suggest me some songs I could use to become better?
oh my god woc2006 finally added the ability to skin the column keys individually [t]http://i.imgur.com/LpjwIWB.jpg[/t] And it's per-key-mode so you can have 4K loading entirely different images compared to 7k.
okay updated skin again now that i can actually choose which keys go to which lane. I might do something even fancier with it later like merging the hitscore with the keys. although i'd have to do some weird trickery for 4K download: monolegacy v0.4 todo list: - fix kerning of score font --- maybe choose a different font - change generic UI elements for menus --- fix ranking panel - better hitsounds + normalize volume - choose a better name for the skin once i have all of that done it'd probably be decent enough to post on the official forums
[img_thumb]http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/1008315[/img_thumb] so this happened the other day
Is there any way of turning off the annoying beat added when you are using the nightcore modifier? Also, I can finish 7K easy maps with hard rock, nightcore & hidden modifiers but I can't seem to progress onto normal difficulty maps. The combination of key presses completely screws me up.
Has osu! been strangely jittery or laggy for anyone else recently? It used to work perfectly, then an update came out and the game started getting weird microstutter and random freezes and jitter for no reason, I've tried updating my video drivers, changing the affinity in task manager, lowering settings, etc. I should not be getting lag in osu!, I'm using a GTX570 and can run BF3 on Ultra at my native resolution with no problem, but as soon as osu! starts up, the game averages at like 1,300FPS but while I'm playing will randomly freeze and drop to 10-20FPS for periods of 1-10 seconds.

The first barrier to get better in mania is just to play enough that you can press the keys without thinking about which keys you need to press. If you're still occasionally hitting the wrong key, or have to think about which key to press for any amount of time, you still haven't played enough. The only way is brute-force and practice.

Most of them are electronic songs, since i don't like anime songs that much. Songs w/ Muzukashii (and relatively easy Oni difficulties): http://osu.ppy.sh/b/224097 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/215534 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/209865 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/190043 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/244645 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/171124 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/248675 Songs w/ Muzukashii (and harder Oni relative to above): http://osu.ppy.sh/b/176727 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/229363 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/197737 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/222526 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/63708 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/272797 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/234039 Songs w/ Muzukashii (very hard Oni difficulties, if you're interested): http://osu.ppy.sh/b/218392 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/242953 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/263383 (the Muzukashii on this is abnormally hard) http://osu.ppy.sh/b/102442 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/257793 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/215496 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/178026 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/178027 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/221167 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/192513 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/249796 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/236003 Songs with just Oni, but doable: http://osu.ppy.sh/b/111297 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/124295 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/117706 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/73984 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/99114 http://osu.ppy.sh/b/117868
Weekly Facepunch osu match is up, if you want to drop in. Name: Facepunch Fast Anime Pass: fpfa
I'm left-handed, but I've ever only used a mouse with my right hand. I tried playing Osu with my left hand earlier, but it was just impossible. Would it be worth looking into buying a tablet?
definitely
This game is a perfectionist's worst nightmare.
This game is a perfectionist's worst nightmare.
Tell me about it.
So, a friend of mine just went full Sherlock Holmes and figured out where the OBS icon originated from. He first noticed after stumbling over this photo [img_thumb]http://puu.sh/4AdaO.jpg[/img_thumb] He then looked up some other Taiko images and found out that it's the logo the "Kodo Drummers" Taiko band uses. [img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba/Taiko_drum_at_2008_SFIDBF.JPG[/img_thumb] One thing came to another and he found out it's a Tomoe (traditional comma design) A migi mitsudomoe to be precise [img_thumb]http://rlv.zcache.com/migi_mitu_tomoe_round_stickers-r59665e4d22984300b4ceb4a798d6babf_v9waf_8byvr_324.jpg[/img_thumb] I realize this may not be the very best place to post since this is more OBS than Taiko related, but I hope it's not too much of an annoyance to those who don't care. At least you guys can nerd out when you see a friend use OBS or play Taiko until they kick you out.
At least you guys can nerd out when you see a friend use OBS or play Taiko until they kick you out.
i use OBS to record osu, real talk
I'm using ddkk key configuration and find it super hard to play ddk and kkd patterns. Playing everything else becomes more and more difficult the faster the songs get too, so should I just switch to kddk while it's not to late or is there actually any positive aspect by using ddkk?

I don't think DDKK has any positive aspects besides being easier to learn than KDDK. [editline]10 Oct 2013 15:23[/editline] I'm probably wrong, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I use the AS-KL key layout, so try that out if it helps
hi guys i play osu toooo Does anyone else play without the keyboard? I use only mouse
hi guys i play osu toooo Does anyone else play without the keyboard? I use only mouse
I use keyboard and mouse on lowest sensitivity and in fullscreen. That's hard, but challenging.
i sometimes use mouse only other times I use mouse to move, and keyboard keys to click occasionally I use mouse to move and click, and also keyboard to click (4keys!)
I use keyboard and mouse on lowest sensitivity and in fullscreen. That's hard, but challenging.
low sensitivity is usually easier it's fun playing at 3000DPI@4x sensitivity
I only play Mania now.
when i first started i was a tard and didn't realize you could use the keyboard i got so used to adjusting my mouse hand to compensate for the mouse clicks that if I play with the keyboard it feels weird as hell
