I finally finished my first hard song. Took me 200 tries according to the osu stats page, but I finally did it. Sure it's a B, but a hard song finally finished! I'm getting better at this!

Anime actually helped me for once. I just couldn't beat this song if my life counted on it, but today the school IT guy was giving away an old CRT monitor he didn't want anymore. I thought "lol why would anyone want that crappy thing" but then I had a flashback to when I watched Summer Wars where gamer kid said that CRT has a faster response time and something about a higher hz. So I thanked the IT guy for the monitor and I trekked a kilometre home with this heavy fucking box. I got home, plugged it in, and through glorious CRT I finally beat it. The fucking song that has been haunting me for ages. Do that song again once or twice and you'll get an S. I've been playing for about seven months now and my rank is ~23k. I haven't gotten any points for like two months now and thought about starting to play with hardrock turned on more often to enhance my ability to read maps and my reaction time. Is this a good idea or will it somehow fuck up my reading/playing? I'm talking about Insane difficulties btw.

I've hit a brick wall for taiko... I cannot do any oni at all, and some of the harder muzu's... I am starting to have difficulty reading the faster speed ones, and I cannot do the note streams that are close together, is there any songs or anything that can help me improve this?

FCing isn't everything, play what's challenging as long as you're not just mindlessly mashing buttons. Taiko is mostly reading and muscle memory anyways, nothing to do but to practice what will teach you something. I personally didn't really play any muzus at all, as soon as I started playing to improve I went straight on to onis. Filter out what it is that's throwing you of and practice that perhaps, and honestly people like call me a weirdo for playing retarded 220bpm+ maps with hr but that's just because I always use it, it increases OD by roughly 2 and thus makes you in general more accurate and you wont have to spend ages practicing high sv's once you get to actually fcing ranked onis for the ranks. Unless your accuracy is horribly shite, HR is generally more comfortable than HD despite the increase in OD, and chances are you'd want to use it once you get better. At least from my point of view it only makes sense to start early. For what it's worth, I find HR to be easier than nomod.
