Not that good though tbh, but find it a fun game to play. I'm fairly good at jumps, but whenever I mess up, it's because I don't 'get' the beat rhythm in the beat map, which I find fairly annoying. In fact, there are times where I just find the insane version easier than the hard version because it hits more of the notes in the song that I expect to be in there. ;s

It's not that hard when you get used to it but I used to wonder how people could use their left hands for the keyboard. Just give yourself a while to get comfortable and slowly move up to hards/insanes, maps get a little more creative at that level.
Is it bad that I almost never bother with actually finishing a map. I go for the hardest songs I am able to follow and play those until they feel simple enough, then moved on to harder ones.
As a result I barely have any SS/S ratings.
so i remember reading about this a little while back but i was more or less burnt out on rhythm games at that time so i put it off. but after seeing this thread again today i figured I may as well try it out.
a couple of hours later and I can do a lot of 4star songs, but all of the "insane" ones will still be out of my reach for a while. does anyone have any tips from moving up from 4star to the faster insane songs, other than turning on no-fail mode and just constantly mashing buttons until you understand some of the reflexes required?

Well, if you're using mouse only, I can't really help you there. If you're using keyboard keys, try to switch the position of your tapping hand, for example, my tapping hand floats above my keyboard while my elbow rests on the arm of my chair, as opposed to my hand resting on the keyboard.
Otherwise, just practice. With triples, you should be counting how much you click/tap then immediately move on.

haha we'll i am using a mouse/keyboard combo. i guess i'll just continue to "grind" through some of these patterns until i get them down like I usually do then. :V
triples are really easy though. it's just x->z->x for me in quick succesion, where i normally use X for every regular note (forefinger).

I do the same as you even now, I still manage to get an S on some maps regardless of whether they are crazy but if I can get an S I usually end up adding double time or something. As a result of this my SS count is huge [sp]5 last time I checked (or 4?).[/sp]

Just like the guy said before, those sliders are definitely more appropriate for something called Insane rather than Hard territory. Also, while I'm not really much of a timing expert, the offset feels more in-sync/comfortable in 27,241 (+20), I suggest doing so too in your second timing scale to add up. Don't forget to go to Timing>Resnap All Notes after changing offset.
Also I think the map so far is pretty solid but there's really some stuff that can throw off a player and is also kinda aesthetically bad. Like 01:09:032 (5) - for example, should begin with a new combo else the notes feel out of place despite following the music. I also recommend not making too much long combos too if the gap is too large. Like for example 01:13:652 (7) - should also be appropriate for a new combo. 01:12:392 (4,5) - as well, since the spacing is kinda tricky with the music's nature being unpredictable, sorta feels cheap to know it's 1/4, a new combo should fix the problem or changing the positions. 01:19:113 (1,2,3,4,5) - on how 3, 4 is 1/4 and suddenly 5 is 1/2 apart is a spacing error downright, especially on how 1, 2 is assumed to be a stacked 1/4 and letting player do a guesswork on 3,4 feels cheap. I suggest either changing the positions or stacking.
My biggest qualm so far is this 01:23:503 (1,2,3,4) - this jump literally comes out of nowhere :v: while I know the music does pick up from here, it follows a bit of background beats rather than the main flow of the melody, usually background beats are consistent and not placed onto high feat jumps like this, it's not impossible to hit the notes but it's very difficult and jarring to do so, really uncanny so I recommend revising that part altogether or just stacking them or putting them close together.
I'll praise you for 01:25:183 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3) - though, good job on that seriously :)
Also I do not recommend you adding more notes than necessary, I made this mistake numerous times and it always comes back to bite me, so just keep doing what you're doing timeline beat wise. Less is more~
