Try to get as close to the center of the spinner as possible when spinning.

as long as you work on your spins it doesn't really matter how close you are to the center - you've just gotta make sure that you can move to the next note, especially if it's one of those horrible maps where there is a beat a millisecond after the spinner ends

my cursor literally never moves from the edge of the screen while spinning thanks to my extreme mouse sensitivity

i still get ~400+ spins

spinners can be used well occasionally though, it's just that they're usually bad. Especially because there's no visual cue when one's going to start or end. If there was a cue of some kind they would be a lot better tbh

like I know a specific song where a spinner would work perfectly if I ever bothered to map it, but that would mean i'd have to map it...

That is scary, i play with a tablet and spin at the center and i still can only pull around 350 max.
