Yeah a "daddydon" as I call them gives double the score if you hit it with both keys and the regular value if you "100" it with both or "300" it with one. It's good to practice in the alternating but it's certainly not the end of the world if you're bad at them, or just don't bother with them at all. They're nothing hard as you can doubletap whatever is before and after and are mostly just for the fun of it if you play them like you're supposed to. The few maps where they matter are like shitty converts like Made of Fire and the Kirby Mixes, and they're not actually particularly hard anyways.
I have a question, what do you play taiko with, I've been using keyboard and I just started playing OSU again, it's still tough to do, however I think I can improve a lot with a keyboard. [editline]11/29/2013[/editline] forgot to specify this is my profile https://osu.ppy.sh/u/529942
Keyboard, Cherry MX Browns; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1YNyG0s2qE There are very few using a tatacon and like that one and only weirdo who insists on using a joypad controller. edit: this weirdo right here :v: [editline]27th November 2013[/editline] what's really annoying is that he's actually pretty good, with a fucking controller
i was looking through the recently ranked mania maps, and kept getting 200s on one of them. My accuracy is usually shit so I didn't think much of it, but I decided to check it out in edit mode regardless. Turns out it's about 16 later than what it should be throughout the entire song. Whoops! not really sure how nobody caught that, as it was modded by like 10 people. either way I notified the dude so hopefully it'll be fixed
How do you find newly ranked maps?
easier with supporter. You get like dis sidebar that lets you see newest ranked maps but lol just going here is an idea too
I am a supporter, I forgot about that.
in that case go to the main menu and on the right you got o!d so woo woo grats
Oh man, so Taiwan wanted to play Poland on Saturday so they moved the UK vs Korea match AND the Poland vs Taiwan match to Saturday. After that Poland said they couldn't play Saturday and Taiwan said they COULD play Sunday after all, I also stated that it's a problem for the UK to play on Saturday but they locked the entire OWC thread because "the tournament doesn't move to fit the players". I wasn't even ASKED if it's okay for the UK's day to be moved, this is just abortion tier right now. I was planning to just play unofficially at better times with the other teams but they threatened to simply replace people who did that with the next team down the list that got knocked out earlier. This is a mess.
How do you find newly ranked maps?
ecksdee already gave you the standard ranked, but here's mania versions: Ranked mania maps, in order of when they were ranked Recently updated pending mania maps, in order of when they were last updated
in that case go to the main menu and on the right you got o!d so woo woo grats
unfortunately o!d can't sort by a specific mode so it's almost completely useless!
unfortunately o!d can't sort by a specific mode so it's almost completely useless!
I just download well-enough rated mania maps as they arrive. Check like daily. You can still find the mania maps easy enough so it dont bother me
Speaking of mania I was looking for a christmas song to do by, well, christmas and i found renard Well it aint really renard but hey, close enough.
I'm fucking awful at anything that requires any kind of multitasking. The map in that video you just linked would be a nightmare for me.

I have improved at taiko but I can't for the life of do notes right next to each other I have no idea how anyone does it and I've tried mashing but that ends up failing, however I will keep practicing until I can get it.
Started playing this about a week ago. I was instantly hooked. Here's my profile http://osu.ppy.sh/u/3642973

ah, just got a new mouse, and adjusting my grip is hard as fuck how do get used to 2300 dpi when I played with 400 for a year?
Turn it down? higher dpi doesn't mean it's better.
Turn it down? higher dpi doesn't mean it's better.
Generally lower is considered better as long as it's usable.
renard didn't invent hardcore/breakcore
he is however the most recognizable speedcore artist in the osu! song repository also its a joke
Does anyone know any good songs for practicing using both buttons on the keyboard? I'm used to only using 1 of them for every song.

[editline]30th November 2013[/editline] rip uk
Yeah I saw that, 99% of the links are dead and I could probably learn better just by doing some songs that I have found that have a lot of streaming and ddd, kkk, ddk, kkd, dkd, and kdk.
Generally lower is considered better as long as it's usable.
ye, but i've gotten to the point with my old mouse where there are notes i can't reliably reach in ar10 maps or hardrock
I could probably learn better just by doing some songs that I have found that have a lot of streaming and ddd, kkk, ddk, kkd, dkd, and kdk.
I'd say you'd probably learn better by just playing whatever is challenging, as long as you're not just mindlessly mashing buttons. Practicing patterns separately is bad practice imo, you'd be better of getting used to reading on sight and playing actual maps rather than splitting everything up into unrealistic segments. And even if it's hard, try not to practice on anything lower than muzu, preferably nothing lower than easy onis even. Play whatever you like though. Don't forget to use Easy/Hardrock and Halftime/Doubletime where needed. They can be really useful, i.e this with DT+EZ which goes from singletapping to long streams with simple patterns. Also you few taiko players, don't be afraid to approach me :pwn: I'd be more than happy to play some taiko in multiplayer with you, even if you're new to it.
okey then let's taiko multi because why not Room: Facepunch Taiko pass: fpfa match info: http://osu.ppy.sh/mp/3102040 [editline]hi[/editline] everybody left BOAT WINS!!11!!
thought i'd ask here is there a thread for general rhythm games?
haven't seen one [editline]30th November 2013[/editline] dunno how active a thread like that would be though, if there is one it's likely that it hasn't been bumped
