Try a different skin. I know my default sorta hides on-beat sfjl notes so I gotta switch every time.

I've never had that issue and I only play mania.

I originally assumed this happened because I hit the note while holding multiple keys, but this has happened a lot and I can't see any reason for it to.[/QUOTE] do you have a replay of it happening? is it an unranked song? some bad unranked songs (or songs converted from other games) that people abandoned might have 2 notes in the exact same spot, making it impossible to hit as you'd need to hit the key twice instantaneously. are you losing the combo at the end of sliders? you need to let go of the key when the note at the end of the slider reaches the hitbar. It's not like standard where you can continue holding it afterwards. only way to lose a combo really is to miss a note. but the combo counter doesn't really mean anything at all to mania. Only thing that matters is the hidden "bonus multiplier" that is increased by getting successive 300/MAX in a row. Anything less than that drastically reduces the max score you can achieve.

I don't think it was the sliders either, because I can usually get at least a 50 even if I hold it down a while after it ends. I think you're right about the double note thing, because it was always at the same point.

So I started playing and there's something I don't get, I try doing hard difficulty songs but for some reason I usually fail early in the song for no real reason. I hit all my notes with proper timing but my bar top right keeps going down and down and down until it just makes me fail even if I have a full combo going. What gives.

What gives.[/QUOTE] 300's give the most health, if you're not missing any but only getting 50's and 100's you'll run dry pretty fast.

If you had a top 50 at one point but you lost it then it still stays on the website regardless. Maybe it's a bit higher now but I know that only really low ranking scores can be pulled.

Playing osu! with a mouse is like playing Dwarf Fortress without a tileset or like playing a racing sim with a keyboard. It's possible, but somehow something's simply missing.

I'm so used to playing with tablet that I'm really struggling moving this heavy block over the surface at the speed of light. It's a lot better now than a few weeks ago, but I still have problems with 200BPM+ jumps that I was actually able to pull of with a tablet. Kinda shucks.

So I was right when I speculated that PPv1 wasn't calculating/updating rankings often/at all/accurately anymore, which I'm guessing is why my rank was glitched out and would randomly fluctuate between 10.1 and 10.7k. But what the fuck? There's no way I went from rank ~10k to rank 55k. [editline]20th January 2014[/editline] now peppy has completely disabled overall public rankings he really needs to come out and say what he's trying to do with this, i don't comprehend what he's saying. he wants to turn the entire ranking system into a giant chart system? he wants to move to something like league's ranking system? in the comments he talks about how he wants to make rankings progression based instead of skill based, but isn't that the exact opposite of how a ranking system is supposed to work? all this could be avoided if he would just, y'know, tell us how the hell the ranking system works and why it works the way it does [editline]20th January 2014[/editline] im getting the vibe that peppy just wants to kill competition in osu except for the uppermost levels, cause his comments in the thing "Play for fun, it's the best way to play!" and the fact that if you try and look at your ranking, one of the messages is "Go play for fun!" i think peppy fails to comprehend that competition is WHY it's fun for some people, I like seeing where I am in relation to other people through my ranking, even if it isn't 100% accurate all of the time
