Ok so I am sick with all currently existing zombie missions so I made my own world with Namask crisis, it's open without any goal and many things happening everywhere and well check this out: Sorry for bigass pics! Basicly I made about thousand of random crates and dropped weapons (lots of different ones but none of the big ass guns) with a percentage of beeing there when starting the game (same for some events) so that means everytime you start it up, it'll be different! The whole island namask is covered in stuff now what I need is someone to play with or someone to host this for 2-4 players. The best thing is you start with an glock17 + flashlight, best feeling for this. Cities need to be looted but everytime theres alot of luck involved in actually finding something since the percentages. Who wants to play this with me?
in the init line write
this setposatl [getposatl this select 0, getposatl this select 1, (getposatl this select 2)+X];
where x is metres
Thank you very much man!
Alright so I'm kind of new to the editor, but all the static AT emplacements are damn low to the ground is that normal? While we're on the subject is it possible to put emplacements and misc. stuff on top of roofs? I already know you can put men up there but that's all I figured out.
Use the 3d editor. Press alt+e at main menu. Place object center and viola.
i've had alot of problems with rotation/height in the 3d editor when saving
Yeah me too. Another thing for ArmA 3 wishlist: fix the 3d editor.
That's already confirmed according to the thread on bistudio forums. Or at least I'd assume "The game will feature a 3D editor." would mean that it's actually usable for more than just dicking around now :v:
Yeah me too. Another thing for ArmA 3 wishlist: fix the 3d editor.
It's not an official feature. It was left in either accidentally or on the whim of some guy who wanted to leave us with blue balls about VBS2. edit: oh cool
I was playing some mission where you start as rebels in the middle of a war between the US and Russia. I snuck into a Russian camp, gunned down all the soldiers nearby and got in a BDRM, then used it to break into the airport, kill all the Russians guarding the hangars, and steal a SU-25. There was a destroyed jeep in the middle of the runway, so i tried to pass it, and ended up hitting one of those little runway lights, and my plane blew up.
A little bit of me might die if ACE3 is set in the futuristic bullshit Arma 3 takes place in.
I have nothing against the 20 minutes into the future setting of ArmA 3. I think everything looks fucking awesome, and a lot of the equipment you see is already in limited service, is planned, or is in development. A lot of it is hypothetical but not unrealistic. This thing looks fucking beastly Don't tell me you wouldn't have a massive fucking grin on your face seeing this tearing up some enemies, offloading a squad of troops and taking back off again to dispense some more aerial rape [editline]26th January 2012[/editline]
Ok so I am sick with all currently existing zombie missions so I made my own world with Namask crisis, it's open without any goal and many things happening everywhere and well check this out: Sorry for bigass pics! How long did it take you? And are you planning on releasing it?
Anyone have some recommendations for good quality vehicles (especially aircraft)? I'm tired of downloading things off Armaholic to find out they're not very good.
Also, can someone tell me what line to use on a squad/platoon leader so the rest of his squad is in a vehicle's cargo with him? At the moment I'm going through each unit and putting "this moveincargo <transport>" but it takes the piss when there's a lot of units.
Totally up for it. How long did it take you? And are you planning on releasing it?
Cool man, first need to check it out with somebody to test if it's okay in the long term, yesterday my first test started and I quit after 2 and a half hours of shitting my pants often enough in situations. I made alot of maps in operation flashpoint years ago so I am quite fast with learning the whole arma 2 thing, I got this game since a month and been working on the map alone total for 6 hours (yes that's small time) but in the end it's worth it, the playtests just take massive amounts of time because I only got to explore about 30% in 2 hours and 30 minutes :v: I will release it if it's okay enough and without major flaws (havent found major flaws yet) There is one thing pissing me off about it, the 2 playable characters are graves (undercover) since you can't pickup british backpacks without beeing british yourself, just noticed that stupid bug and only way to really get around it without crazy weird work is to be an british character so I took graves which is an british dude in arabic clothes, nothing to bad but I could not make it differently. Also add me on steam we can play a round on it, our timezones are pretty similiar since you are british! My steam name should be: "Darkslicer85" and current profile name is DeKay. Havent played it coop yet.
3d editor will allow us to place units inside buildings, aircraft in specified altitude.. that's a good thing, the bad thing that sometimes games with 3d editor running slower in 3d editor mode :S
hmm from the top of my head something like
{_x moveincargo <transport>}forEach units group this;

{_x moveInCargo <transport>} forEach [unit1, unit2, unit3...unit453982]; if units are not in group - a lot of single soldiers, for example. Or forEach units [grp1, grp2]; - don't really know if this one will work, however.
Most computers can barely run the game as it is. Still not really giving the effect i wanted. I see some videos where the dust from choppers etc is much more lifelike, and the explosions too. Also some how, my Texture quality is on Very High yet when i go into 3rd person my character looks pretty blurry.
mk17 rco has the best sight for cqb to medium range and missions that might turn into night
what is this madness and how do i do it?
what is this madness and how do i do it?
numpad / by default, lets you switch between RCO sight and whatever backup sights are installed on the weapon. My favourite's probably the G36 for that reason.

As for the blurring issue, is your 3D resolution in your video options at 100% or higher?

If you don't, you only see the lite versions of everything that was added in the DLC. That might be why your character had low resolution textures.
Joined a Zargabad life server, never played ArmA before. Get banned for "say hello to venom for me :)" what the fuck

Recently got back into Arrowhead but was getting annoyed of playing without ARMA2 so I installed Arma2 free and combined them together to make it similar to combined operations(Arma2 lite) so that I could play on servers that require Arma2 regular. If anyone is interested on how to do this, I used the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead\arma2oa.exe" "-mod=C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Free;Expansion" command line in my shortcut to combine them than run it from that shortcut. Not that it only works for the non-steam copies. I am eventually going to buy combined operations on Steam as I hate having low textures on Arma 2 regular servers.
