Better be some scandinavian forces with the NATO.

I'm hoping that you can still customize yourself even with mods.
Awesome, looks like ArmA III's gonna be even more realistic. Now to search for a computer good enough to run it on high settings...

ARMED ASSAULT: MODERN WARFARE. Edit: I actually like the action movie style pre-explosion flight. Edit2: But throw realism out of the window. What the fuck is that guy doing up on the left. Thrown meters into the air by a small grenade blast? :v:
Holy shit dynamic fingers in ARMA 3 INSTANT BUY
I don't know about dynamic fingers, but your trigger finger moves in arma 3 too.
I don't know about dynamic fingers, but your trigger finger moves in arma 3 too.
WOAH DAMN.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKKbisvGspQ RV3 runs better with ati hardware so there decision to use physx seems a little odd (rather than using opencl which everyone can use), hopfully not having physx hardware doesnt limit it

The bloke at the beginning looks like Gabe Newell.
Did I tell you about what happened? I was playing ArmaA II multiplayer. We were waiting for the enemy AI to assault our position. We were playing on Chenarus, so we had time to wait. So much time, that we had 15 AA pods at the ready. I decided to jump in one of the Harriers and do a fly-by of the enenmy base. I checked, and all they were were a couple heavy helicopters and craploads of tanks. I reported back, and was ready to land, when our "Squad" leader told me "Fly over us as low as you can". Within 5 seconds, I was 10 feet off the ground and dropping. All the rest of my squad went to prone except for the squad leader. I clipped him with my wing at 600 MPH It wasn't pretty.
By it wasn't pretty you mean he was flung several hundred meters while in death animation, yes?

Except with physics and submarines. I was kind of hoping for an updated control design and updated gameplay/gunplay.
By it wasn't pretty you mean he was flung several hundred meters while in death animation, yes?
Yeah, it actually looked pretty terrible. However, I got a good laugh out of it. :v:
not very impressed at all.. kinda disappointing actually, i know it's still kinda early but wow, it seems like all they did was add physics to ArmA 2 it was hard to tell from that video, but vehicles looked like they still had those terribly unresponsive controls, mostly wheeled vehicles
Meh TBH it honestly looks exactly like ArmA2, kinda disappointing. Except with physics and submarines. I was kind of hoping for an updated control design and updated gameplay/gunplay.
there's nothing wrong with the gunplay
Guys, didn't you listen to the video at all? The control scheme and animation system are the same from ARMA2 because they haven't finished the new one. The guy said it himself that the new movement/animation system was still in the works and that they used A2's system.
Meh TBH it honestly looks exactly like ArmA2, kinda disappointing. Except with physics and submarines. I was kind of hoping for an updated control design and updated gameplay/gunplay.
While I was hoping for more information on the physics and animation system, I'm kind of glad the movement system is largely the same. You have to remember that Operation Flashpoint(original)/ArmA games are infantry combat simulators first, everything else simulators second. While movement is unwieldy to use at first, you have to remember that is has to be- your avatar isn't just a gun with arms, but a person carrying lots and lots of equipment. Once I got the hang of it, I found it made a lot of sense- it's an incredibly immersive system, and I hope that whatever they end up using in Arma 3 remains mostly the same (although quite frankly the infantry controls do need at least some streamlining).
there's nothing wrong with the gunplay
Yes, I should clarify. I was hoping for more fluid and natural character movement and more natural and fluid combat actions when performing them, such as throwing grenades and equipping scilencers. It looks like it still controls like a robot on legs, just like ArmA2 however. The gunplay/shooting itself is fine (except for CQB and the excessive mouse lag which the series has been notorious for having with many players, but it is impossible to judge that without playing). Though really, this game comes out in 2012 so it IS anyone's game. Hopefully you are right. Even with 80lbs of gear on. The difference is actions will be a bit more naturally sluggish and harder hitting with 80lbs of gear vs having no gear at all. What ArmA and OfP does, doesn't simluate 80lbs of gear, it simulates a man who is incapable of moving or completing actions without doing calculated unnatural steps of motion. Such a control scheme is acceptable back in the days of OfP but in this day and age it comes off as extremely outdated.

I want dismemberment in Arma 3. Especially when a large calibre weapon hits you. Like the 50.cal sniper.

Where did they get these ridiculous names? First helmet is a MICH 2000 or ACH, second one is a MICH 2001. The OPFOR LOAD BEARING VEST is indeed a LBE but there is nothing.. 'OPFOR' about it. The US Army uses them, the Russians use them and hell even the Japanese use them. They're very common and they're typically worn over armor.

anyone know if arma 2/3 support 10 bit per colour? i am going to get a WQHD monitor and as i only really play arma and dont use lightroom much i cant decide if its worth paying extra for a model with 10bit support, theres a 8 bit wqhd monitor with much lower input lag and pricing as well
Apparently there's some weird free to play version of ARMA 2 coming soon? http://www.arma2.com/free
Apparently there's some weird free to play version of ARMA 2 coming soon? http://www.arma2.com/free
Looks like it's going to basically be regular ArmA 2 with no expansions, crappier graphics, it won't come with any pre-made missions or campaigns and will not support mods.
