This game may look moderately good graphics wise, but it lacks immensely in many ways, the gameplay is just...extremely bad in my opinion. Maybe it takes some getting used to, but it's just ridiculously clunky and slow. I guess slow is the point of a "realistic" game, but it's harder to aim in this game than it is in real life. [editline]14th July 2011[/editline] And I think it really sucks too, this game has extreme potential to be an extremely fun game, if only the gameplay didn't feel like I'm on some sort of bipod camera or something.
Yeah it feels like you're a puppeteer missing a few strings, not like a soldier. (Hopefully PR:ArmA2 can fix this)
Yeah it feels like you're a puppeteer missing a few strings, not like a soldier. (Hopefully PR:ArmA2 can fix this)
It's such weird gameplay, it's hard to explain but all I know is that it's bad
Hey guys. I want to introduce my step dad to Armed Assault but I'm not sure what I should show him first. We're going to play on my LAN, and I want to show him warfare. What's the better game for this? Operation Arrowhead or Arma 2? I think he will like the graphics better in Arma 2 but I think OA is less buggy and more polished. Also, would anyone recommend a mission besides warfare? I figure it's the best one because he is a huge command and conquer fan and I think he will really like the RTS elements. Thanks :)
^OA I reckon, although Chernaurus is prettier. So Chernaurus on OA If you want the RTS stuff then yeah, Warfare. Personally SecOps is my favourite mission though, unless you can get a lot of people together in which case domination is pretty cool
Do you mean Chernarus Warfare through combined ops?
Do you mean Chernarus Warfare through combined ops?
Yeah if you can do that.
also it's possible (experimetal, unsupported) to combine ARMA 2 Free with ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead to get ARMA 2: Combined Operations the only downside so far is that some of the OA content which is redudand to A2 and was updated (textures, shaders, Thermal Imaging subsytem) will most likely be degraded to A2F quality e.g. Mi helicopters in Czech Army faction were updated in OA and thus A2: CO the OA content is used, in the A2: CO lite mode it will most likely use A2F ones it will be posted soon on the BIKI ... --- in other news sixupdater 2.5 stable was released marking huge milstone in one of best community content deployment tools http://www.six-updater.net/2011/07/six-updater-v25-stable.html
Jesus, that outperforms GTA4 even
Who's up for a few games today then?
Someone give me a new GPU so I can play ArmA 2 again :(
So I was playing Zargabad roleplay. I was with my friend and our gang. I'm playing and all, and my friend calls for help because a "Cop on pushbike" was trying to pull him over.
Cool videos
PILOTS ONLY ON HELIS!!11
Guys, I can't figure out how to mod Arma 2 vanilla with SixUpdater. I'll set it to Arma 2 exe and it goes hurr durr no. I'm retarded please help me the auto thing seems to be for OA only which I do not have.
PILOTS ONLY ON HELIS!!11
Surprisingly, the guys on the 82nd Airborne server last night didn't seem to care. I was an AT Soldier acting as a Blackhawk pilot, and I didn't get any complaints. Maybe it was because there was a need for them and I'm a decent pilot.
Joined an Arma2 Tournament called "Frontline Combat" just so that I could get into some good organized teamplay. I love teamplaying, and I love squadleading. Kind of hard to find folks that willingly join your squad and follow your orders in public servers
Anyone wanna play CO undead mod? (Can link the undead mod anyone needs it) ?
Kind of hard to find folks that willingly join your squad and follow your orders in public servers
Good god, this. I've had that problem in other games to the point of retardation.
How do I enable the "Ambien Civillians" module? I'd like to make a Sniper mission, and have some civvies wandering about for atmosphere.
Sync with the player.
Woop, Arma X: Anniversary Edition is now available on steam. Thinking of getting this instead of CO since it's basically the same price!
Trying to access the Arma cold war page on steam but it gives me a 503 error, Ah well!
Works for me, but it seems like you can't buy it separately anyway if that's what you wanted.
does arma gold play with regular arma copies?
if you start it w/o the Queens Gambit mod then yes ...
ARMA X Anniversary was released on STEAM
are there any plans to release op flash and arma gold separately on steam or do i have to buy all the games again?
it's the same amount as if you bought them all separately, and why would you want ArmA 1 or OFP anymore
because ofp is fucking sweet and nostalgia
are there any plans to release op flash and arma gold separately on steam or do i have to buy all the games again?
for several reasons standalone release can't be done on STEAM (can't go into details) anyway in ARMA X Anniversary is also complete soundtrack for all released titles which gives ~120 songs in mp3 and flac format btw. i understood the 'frustrating factor' for these who want only the CWA and don't have old original keys... we are still working on 'solution'
The solution is there's a Cold War Crisis mod for Arma 2 in the works!
it's the same amount as if you bought them all separately, and why would you want ArmA 1 or OFP anymore
OFP has the best campaign of the series, if not one of the best campaigns in war games in general. I agree with ARMA 1 though, there isn't really any reason to play that anymore, especially since all of the ARMA 1 content has been ported over to ARMA 2.
