Yes, but it'll take a moderately small amount of time. You basically duplicate the cmd file that launches combined ops and write the previous code in that new file, before renaming that file, right guys?
I have no idea how to edit cmd files
I have no idea how to edit cmd files
Accordng to my entirely unchecked sources, right-clicking on the file brings up the option to edit it. I'm running entirely on what this says, btw: http://www.legionofspartans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6729 I cant make sure it works right now, for obvious reasons, so I may be a bit off. (Said with major sarcastic stress on "bit")
Ok so I have Combined Ops retail from the store. Can I somehow combine my Steam version of British Armed Forces with Combined Ops so I can play with the DLC? I think the above post helped me a bit. So I'll see what happens. Apparently I can't even buy it.
you can't buy DLC on STEAM w/o owning the base game first on STEAM too

If you want the DLC for the retail version, you have to buy it from http://www.sprocketidea.com
Or you could just use the free low res versions, and then grab a nifty replacement pack for them. No sweat. Unless the campaign is that important to you

Unless these replacement packs are so popular that most servers have the signatures for them, I haven't played on public servers for a long time.

Whats the name of the mod that lets you turn on and off addons in your addon folder so you can play online? I downloaded a shit load and now I can't join any servers.
I doubt that's even possible, the game automatically loads everything inside the addons folder. You should have used mod folders to begin with so this wouldn't have happened.
If I buy the ArmA II retail, can I activate it on Steam?
No, you can't.
THE FINAL CHAPTER OF THE ARMA 2 WITH FACEPUNCH AIRSOFTERS. ITS COMING.
Are we going to get a game going on tonite? I'm really itching to crash fuel/ammo trucks into choppers again.
so I just got ArmA2:OA, I'm not seeing many PvP servers at all, and in general I can't seem to join many of the servers for unknown reasons. Is there an addon that everyone uses that I'm unaware of?
Was playing a custom Secops SP game today which I made. Used SAS units and all the ambient modules. To begin the squad went to defend a nearby US camp but halfway there Russian hinds show up. I ordered everyone out as the Team leader, managing to save everyone but myself as the Pickup we were driving bursted into an inferno. The rest of the squad hid and got to the objective. We got a new objective afterwards involving saving some POW's. At about 200 meters from the target the man at the front of the squad was sniped because he went too far ahead. Our medic ran forward towards a tree and fired a couple of rounds, but all he got was a bullet through the skull. The last two remaining squad members ran for the wounded man who got sniped first, one of which supressed while the other threw smoke and healed him. As soon as he was healed the man who saved him was sniped along with the last squadmate. All that was left was the wounded man who almost got himself healed, so I just ran. I ordered reinforcements and the Huey came but it was shot down. Swearing revenge I went all the way to Elektrovadsk to sabotage a Russian submarine in a scenario I made up. The man died.

It has a server browser and when you click a server, displays the mods that it's running, and you can right click the server, click add to preset, then click the preset and click install or update, and it'll automatically download the latest version of all the mods running on the server. You can then create a desktop shortcut that has those mods enabled in the target line, instead of having to manually do it yourself, so you can have multiple shortcuts for multiple servers with different mods There were a few PVP servers last night that had over 40 players
WHere can I can Operation Arrowhead for ARMA 2 on Greenman gaming?
WHere can I can Operation Arrowhead for ARMA 2 on Greenman gaming?
Nowhere because Operation Arrowhead isn't on Greenman Gaming.

Just bought ArmA 2:CO, downloading and I'll be getting ACE 2 as well. I've been missing out on a lot and I hope I'll enjoy it.
Is ACE mod a botnet? Recently my friends and I decided to start playing some ArmA 2: OA again and after playing the vanilla game for a while we decided to install ACE. So we all install the mod we start playing and a few minutes in the person who is hosting the server is having some serious internet problems and can't stay in ventrillo. This only happened in short bursts that would last for about 10 minutes, and during this his upload capabilities would get raped. He began to monitor his internet usage and during one of the "bursts" he would begin uploading to multiple IPs at about 3Mb/s. Upon further investigation right before the uploading began he would receive a 60 message packet from 81.30.150.242:57327. If you put this into your browser it reveals something quite odd. http://81.30.150.242/ So we may be over reacting and this might just be something completely unrelated, but the sites that he is uploading to have nothing to do with ArmA and are instead clan sites related to GTA:SA MP. Some of the IPs that he is being forced to upload to are as follows: cit-project.net 207.112.124.177.tor.primus.ca ls-rp.com 174.34.133.106.rdns.ubiquityservers.com After even more research the ls-rp.com and cit-project.net have been ddos'd in the last 20 days. All of this is very convincing evidence that the ACE mod is being used as a botnet, because the developers who created this would hope that users would install it on a server box which would have accses to high amounts of upload speed strengthening the attack. We know it is ArmA2/ACE causing this because A) This literally started today, and the network usage is coming from the arma process B) This did not start until ACE was installed If anyone has any experience with this can they tell us if our conclusions are correct? And if they are correct what should we do about this?
Interesting. Does anyone else have experience with this?
I'd imagine that it would be pretty hard to discover if someone was using a dedicated server to play, we would have never noticed unless the hosts internet wasn't limited.
That does sound very convincing, maybe you should post it somewhere on the BI forums and hope that it gets enough attention so one of the ACE devs would have to respond to it. [editline]25th July 2011[/editline] What did he use to monitor the packets, wireshark? I could test if I get the same results.
I'm thinking about buying Operation Arrowhead. I've never played an ArmA or OF game before, is the learning curve really high?
I just ran a listen server for about 30 minutes, no noticeable network spikes coming from the arma2oa executable, never received anything from 81.30.150.242.
maybe you should post it somewhere on the BI forums and hope that it gets enough attention so one of the ACE devs would have to respond to it.
And you would get lods of e posts by fanboys claiming that false. I find it kinda hard to believe anyways that ACE mod would be used as a botnet. Would have been noticed by some of the bigger clans me thinks. Only exe that is included in ACE is ACEclippi and ACE works fine without it, so if the ACE actually would be botnet it would have to work thro ArmA 2 itself. [editline]25th July 2011[/editline] BTW I think your friend has sixupdater running in the background, because it has caused internet problems for others too, and as your friend had packets sent to devheaven.
so if the ACE actually would be botnet it would have to work thro ArmA 2 itself.
He did say that the network usage is coming from the arma process.
Played Zargabad life today. Its brilliant. Went as a UNO cop and caught someone trying to gather LSD to process, he ran to his vehicle and tried to drive off. However I managed to burst his tires with my pistol and I chased him for about 5-6 minutes before I lost him and gave up. A few minutes later I found him next to a Mosque in his car, just as he started to drive off I got a really lucky shot on him and I managed to knock him out. He had pissed everyone off in the last game, breaking every rule there was so I arrested him for 20 minutes just to rid the server of him. In that same life I was kidnapped by someone that sat in my car because I forgot to lock it. I got out the car to lock him in it for fun but he tried to drive off, so I got back in again. In the passenger seat of the car with the person who was trying to steal it.
