Played Zargabad life today. Its brilliant. Went as a UNO cop and caught someone trying to gather LSD to process, he ran to his vehicle and tried to drive off. However I managed to burst his tires with my pistol and I chased him for about 5-6 minutes before I lost him and gave up. A few minutes later I found him next to a Mosque in his car, just as he started to drive off I got a really lucky shot on him and I managed to knock him out.
He had pissed everyone off in the last game, breaking every rule there was so I arrested him for 20 minutes just to rid the server of him. In that same life I was kidnapped by someone that sat in my car because I forgot to lock it.
I got out the car to lock him in it for fun but he tried to drive off, so I got back in again. In the passenger seat of the car with the person who was trying to steal it.
yes, this can be quite a bit of fun to be honest, I usually do civilian and just get some money together at first then I buy a bus and drive around like a douchebag blocking off roads and stuff.
And you would get lods of e posts by fanboys claiming that false.
I find it kinda hard to believe anyways that ACE mod would be used as a botnet. Would have been noticed by some of the bigger clans me thinks. Only exe that is included in ACE is ACEclippi and ACE works fine without it, so if the ACE actually would be botnet it would have to work thro ArmA 2 itself.

BTW I think your friend has sixupdater running in the background, because it has caused internet problems for others too, and as your friend had packets sent to devheaven.
I find it extremely hard to believe also but the evidence itself is kinda convincing. Six updater was not being run in the background (unless it has some sneaky way of doing so). My friend blocked the dev's site IP address to stop the initial message to begin the dos'ing and it has stopped the problem. So once again another way of

I'm curious what are your upload speeds?
and you were using ACE correct?
I'm only on a 24/1 connection right now, but that shouldn't matter. I never even received the initial message from 81.30.150.242.
And yes, I did use it "correct".

where does that code run? did you give your vehicle the name "SPG9"
if you're doing it from the init field try this

Havoc unit recruiting players.
We got a good unit with several good players. Everything from Pilots to Marksmens.
We also provide a ventrilo for tactical purpouses and for "chating".
We all use steam to play Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead.
For any more information, contact Sgt Ellman on steam. Fastest way to add him: Pimp_E
We mostly play Domination, but we are also up for idea's.
We also have forums that is being updated at this moment I'm writing.
Kind Regards

Man I just remembered an awesome time in the First ArmA with a clan i was in, we were pissing about and 2 of us in a littlebird were chasing a guy in a Truck, then I uttered the infamous words: "I have a plan, go lower" So, the pilot did, matched the speed of the Truck, almost touching the roof of the back, I jumped out, landed on the roof of the truck and proceeded to truck surf for about half a minute till i fell off.

Try changing the addMagazine to addMagazineCargo, and see if that works.

I've been playing on this TAW squad server and I've had a lot of fun the past 3 days. I can't wait to join in on an event with FP but I'm satisfied with this for now.
Is ACE mod a botnet?
Recently my friends and I decided to start playing some ArmA 2: OA again and after playing the vanilla game for a while we decided to install ACE. So we all install the mod we start playing and a few minutes in the person who is hosting the server is having some serious internet problems and can't stay in ventrillo. This only happened in short bursts that would last for about 10 minutes, and during this his upload capabilities would get raped. He began to monitor his internet usage and during one of the "bursts" he would begin uploading to multiple IPs at about 3Mb/s. Upon further investigation right before the uploading began he would receive a 60 message packet from 81.30.150.242:57327. If you put this into your browser it reveals something quite odd.
http://81.30.150.242/
So we may be over reacting and this might just be something completely unrelated, but the sites that he is uploading to have nothing to do with ArmA and are instead clan sites related to GTA:SA MP.
Some of the IPs that he is being forced to upload to are as follows:
cit-project.net
207.112.124.177.tor.primus.ca
ls-rp.com
174.34.133.106.rdns.ubiquityservers.com
After even more research the ls-rp.com and cit-project.net have been ddos'd in the last 20 days.
All of this is very convincing evidence that the ACE mod is being used as a botnet, because the developers who created this would hope that users would install it on a server box which would have accses to high amounts of upload speed strengthening the attack. We know it is ArmA2/ACE causing this because
A) This literally started today, and the network usage is coming from the arma process
B) This did not start until ACE was installed
If anyone has any experience with this can they tell us if our conclusions are correct? And if they are correct what should we do about this?
Go to http://www.unitedoperations.net, talk to a guy named Jaynus. He is a Ace dev. Ask him.
the problem was fixed and fully resolved, all gamespy queries now need unique challenge to identify requesting machines properly ...
ACE botnet assumption is false and just another urban myth ...
Game on tomorrow probably.
just note, please restart Your servers to enable the anti flooding feature
also twice as important start use (if you have public server) BattlEye
it has several features (not seen but they there) to improve server stability against similar attacks
so i just bought ARMAII and this is what i get when i try and run it

after that pops up i hit ok then it starts up and quickly after starting it exits and says this

can anyone help?
Whenever I get a problem with a steam game a file validation usually fixes it. Try that.
1. exit STEAM
2. start steam via "run as administrator" (right mouse button menu on the steam icon)
3. run the game
if that don't help
4. restart PC
then repeat 1. and 2.
and do verify file cache, then 3.
also some security suites means weird problems ;)
you may verify if STEAM key server assigned you key by right clicking on the game in STEAM's gameslist and selecting "view game CD key"
ok thanks for the help guys
I'm gonna play through Operation Flashpoint: Resistance. Would the general public recommend I use FFUR/SLX mod or WGL (The predecessor of ACE)?
I'm gonna play through Operation Flashpoint: Resistance. Would the general public recommend I use FFUR/SLX mod or WGL (The predecessor of ACE)?
Good question. SLX or the FFUR-SLX combination, despite adding some cool new features have been known to break vanilla SP missions. The latest FFUR 1985 mod still has some serious bugs left in it and the creator just left it in the dust.
WGL on the other hand does add to the realism factor significantly, but it's tailored primarily for multiplayer.

What's that song? Sounds like Danko Jones.
I'm having a problem with OFPCWC/CWA, my mouse is all twitchy, like it'll reach a "barrier" and has to move beyond it before the action is actually translated in the game. Makes aiming very difficult and annoying.
Using WGL because of the aforementioned bugs, I remember it when the game would create random enemy "targets" so the AI use some form of suppression fire.
What's that song? Sounds like Danko Jones.
The first one is Jailbreak by Thin Lizzy. The second song is Highway Star by Deep Purple.

I myself use FFUR 2006 or 2007 when playing campaigns and SP missions. Replaces units and sounds and adds nice effects (like fuel truck blowing up) but pretty much no new scripts etc so missions doesn't break.
