Oh god how did Daniel Craig's James Bond get on the game /:v:\
lets play
Scoped rifles?
That would ruin the game, lets say the VIP stands in the open for more than a second.
Assasins get a bead on him and he dies, not very fun, but yeah i agree the bodyguards are a bit much with the rifles.
The problem with the assasin team is usually that they always spread out so much, you're useless that way, you come in one by one.
Not all of you gunning at us at once.
But you do have some points, they might get mp5's again, next time we play though we will probably play against ai, as in another mission
I think it'd be fair, as long as there were of course only a limited amount of scoped rifles. It requires more strategy and thought put into transporting the VIP.
How does this sound: a mainly PvE mission where up to six players will be able to fight for the opposite side, attempting to intercept the main force's (up to 18 people) advance against several towns. Or, a mission where most of it takes place on foot in a not-so-large area (imagine top right island of Lingor).

imo smaller fights are more fun since driving around in a boring humvee is boring.
If anyone feels like playing DomiOA Coop with CO, feel free to join me on Chibi Domination server or something similar to that name.
Nobody is really on it but me right now, so it'll probably be just me and whoever decides to join.
I may not be interested in playing this game too much (realism shooters always feel.. clunky.. to me) but damn is it awesome watching a team of friends orchestrate an all out fucking urban battle or some shit.
Direct me to some youtube videos or channels that showcase more of this? It's oddly entertaining. Better than a bunch of 13 year old schmucks showing off their sniper ballet dancing in a COD video.
Yesterday's mission's [del]incredible[/del] awful conclusion:

Drove across the entire map in a neat convoy, broke formation in the last mile to escape enemy fire, piled up on the radio tower, mission broke, mass assisted suicide.

The Project Reality games are an exception to the clunkyness. The brilliant BF2 mod has been around for a long time, and you should be able to find some decent footage of it. Try it out yourself though, the learning curve isn't really that steep at all, and everyone owns BF2. It's been a while since the initial PR:ARMA2 beta release too, so I expect we'll get an update for that in the next few weeks. What I played of it was really fun.

My littlebird got chewed up by AA as I was about to land there. Somebody revived me and I filled his guts with a whole mag from my M1911 :v:
I'm currently working on a fairly interesting VIP Escort mission that I'd like a few people to test and see if it'd be fun enough for one of Profan's weekend ArmA II events. Once I've got a bit more done I'll post pictures and more information on the mission.
How do you guys make these missions? I see "script" and I say no; is it hard to learn? :v:
Hey guys, Raven X here, how about we play a game on Friday about the same time we did yesterday? Would be fucking awesome considering my term is getting done.

Probably not. Most games are only on the weekend but there could be a game on Friday if you ask Profan politely.
Don't hold your breath though.

Honestly, it's not that hard at all. Some of the more complex stuff requires scripts, but even then ArmA's scripting fairly easy. You can find tutorials and tips for just about anything you'd need, there are a ton of resources.

Finding whether a function is local or global is fucking annoying. My mission is pretty much done but I have been doing a script check and have had to rewrite already over half of my scripts due to finding out that the thing is local instead of global. It'd be a bit annoying to find that ammo crate has 20 times more weapons than intended and that suddenly 20 hinds appearing to sky instead of 1.

Proper mp syncing though, thats where the REAL headches lie.
I can host missions, too. We don't have to only play on weekends. Speaking of which, if you're available get on group chat right now!

Profan is gone for a while, don't count on him playing unless he lied to me.
I'm just tying my mission up but I'm stuck on some last minor details. My first biggest issue is more of an aesthetic to the mission and that is basically setting Objectives and Taskhints for when a task if completed or failed that will effect the status of the objective across all teams.
So basically this:
If the VIP dies then the Objective 1 will be completed for team East, but failed for team West and team Civilian.
If the VIP makes it to his destination then I want Objective 1 for team West and team Civilian completed, but failed for team East.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Played some awesome games on zombie maps just then. Literally pitch black at night, and no NV, only flashlights.
Can't see shit captain.

Hey look, I don't have CBA_Main.
I was Robert in that screenshot, not Redball, he's two posts above.

Godammit, six updater.
I moved all my Steam files to a separate hard drive, including my ArmA files. Now six updater is being an ass and won't let my change my path. Any help?
I loved the game last night. I was stuck with a "flare gun" until someone killed someone else and I looted the body for the pistol. :v:

The numbers are scaring him.
I'm pretty sure there would be a couple of us available for playing whenever, if you're online just join the steam group chat room and we can see if there's enough of us to do something.
One of the missions also let you play as a dog.
