Oh man this game is awesome
Oh man this game is awesome
Play the EW campaign, its amazing and actually pretty fucking awesome as it teaches you most infantry combat basics and includes some heli combat. Such as map usage etc and it gives you some awesome independent freeroam in a segment in the middle. Its voice acting is pretty sweet too.

What is EW?
Eagle wing.
It stands for alot of things according to the campaign :V Go into Campaigns, then choose EW and click start.
I hate that there was no fighter jet campaign or even a mission.
That's because jet dogfights in ARMA are weak. Select AA missile, press tab, lock on, shoot, repeat. There's no cover or superiority. Taking out land targets with an A-10 is nice though.
If you use flares properly then air battles are much more fun, you will either have to get a good angle to fire the missile or use the cannon to shoot down the enemy jet. Edit: Try it out by fighting against high skill AI in planes for example.

The only thing I don't like about MMA is that if you have a large number of aircraft, it slows waaay down. Its unavoidable as a script but unacceptable in large aerial engagements.
My Asus G74SX-A1 came in today, I'm picking it up tomorrow after I get out of School then I'm going to play some Arma (not like anyone cares but me ;) ). Also, does using Arma 2 free version and Arma2: OA work to create Combined Operations?
Hey everyone, I am having trouble making a warfare gamemode work :/ Ok, so: I made a warfare module Made a Machine gunner that is player-controlled Made a: Gamelogic/Locations/City - imputed the correct script (this SetVariable["name","Testville"];) Made a Game logic Made a: Gamelogic/Locations/Camp Synced player to warfare, city to warfare, camp to city, Gamelogic to city. My friend just did the exact same thing and he has no problems at all; When I place them like that, I am spawned with my HQ at random points in the map. I have no idea how to fix this and I am really pissed off and tired of trying to fix this for the last half-hour.

I'lll just go purchase it on steam sometime after Christmas just in case there's a steam sale for it.
Why are there the Red/Green/White dots on units? [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/596955603710446523/9B907ECECF014ACD5B5B885173DFEAF4D40B367C/[/t]
never seen that. difficulty setting or something?
never seen that. difficulty setting or something?
Playing on regular. It goes away at expert but i just want it gone at regular..
It's a setting. You can customize the settings for your difficulty and turn things on and off, like Crosshairs, icons, etc etc. It's Markers for Units, I think, just switch it off and you should be good
The dots simulate peripheral vision, so you know something is happening around you even if youre not looking there at the very moment. But as TheTalon said, it's customizable. Personally I prefer having the dots on, but only white ones, so I know something is happening around me but I still have to turn around to find out what it is. I think ACE forces the dots to be just white. edit: I just noticed that the dots also display on units in the center of your screen. That's a bug (I think) but personally I've never had it. Seems to only happen to some people.
It's not a bug, it's a difficulty setting.
It points out any units and whether they're friendly or hostile on lower difficulties.
Friendly, Hostile and Neutral I believe.
