I don't receive either of the errors specified, but I'll try the fix provided anyway. Just in case I missed it last time I tried fixing this problem.
The only perk I have that's not over level 4 is commando. The only leveling I've done for commando has been off-perk weaponry. Anybody got any helpful tips on what I should be doing? I've never even touched the perk and I'm hoping to level it up quick. I already got enough stalkers killed for perk 5 at least but I still have no clue what I should be doing on a team. Tips? Strategies, anyone?
I will not TL;DR, don't be afraid to be descriptive.
Also, I'm lost on what works best for a commando's secondary.
Download fakeplayers.
Download the whitelisted Doom2 map.
Set the forced player count to 99
Set the length to long and the difficulty to beginner.
After you kill the first wave of 800 dudes with whatever perk you choose, switch to sharpshooter and buy whatever you can carry in terms of weapons.
Every wave after the first will have at least 300 stalkers.
Repeat until maxed or bored.
Yeah, in general the commando should avoid any sorts of tough enemies, save for sirens and husks (arguably tough). The amount of bullets he puts into, say, a scrake, will do nothing to its health. It's far more money and ammo-efficient to leave the larger enemies to the supports, zerks, sharps and demolitions than to use your own guns on it.
The health bars you see on zeds will let you know if you should chip in on killing a toughie. If a scrake or a fleshpound has a minimal amount of health, grab a SCAR and shoot it. That is the only time when it's worth your ammo.
Killing crawlers, stalkers, clots and gorefasts should be the general role of a commando, but you can also kill sirens or husks if your squad seems unfit to in its current state. In either of these cases, use a SCAR for good effect. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, but it's the general syntax I use and commando was my first level 6 so I only hope I've been doing it right.
That's just about the essence of it.
You've been doing fine in terms of playing cookie cutter Commando. Another way is actually bodyguarding the Medic. Especially in HoE one Clot grabbing the medic can fuck up the entire game because he can't reach the Zerker around the corner, Zerker dies, Scrake rapes the group and you're all dead.
I've been Mediguard for a few HoE matches and it is quite a rewarding job. Not only can the Medic live a bit carefree, it also helps you since he keeps the rest of the team alive which in turn keeps the bigger guys away. Usually the Medic gets attacked by small fry such as Gorefasts, Clots, Crawlers and Stalkers. Since you're an amazing counter against them, there's no reason not to guard one of the most important teammates you have. Sure, he has a LAR to defend himself but by using the LAR he can't heal anyone immediately. When I'm guarding him, he can spray a little gunfire with his MP5 to help a good Zerker as well as heal him when I'm covering his back, taking care of business with small critters.
It's quite rewarding really.
I still haven't found Firebug too useful in HoE though. The damage output is just too tiny for the amount of health zeds have on that difficulty.
No one plays FB on HoE, unless they're looking for a deliberate challenge or off perk run. It's a useless class on anything over hard if you run it purely and by-perk.
Hell on Earth Evil Santa's Lair. Go level 6 firebug, buy mac10, hide behind the scaffolding metal pillar things just outside spawn. Nothing can reach you and you're immune to husk shots. All you need to do is shoot sirens as a priority and burn everything else as you go. Simple as that.

There's enough room for nearly 4 people to hide behind the two metal scaffolds
This thread has improved my commandeering greatly.
I have a stupid question. The Facepunch servers works at determinate hours, or there are offline? Everytime i try to enter it, it gives me "wrong conection" or is not available. I want play KF with some people of here (and see if they are better than the noob people i find, normally lv0 on hard).

FP servers might be taken down by now. I forgot when that one dude said they were gonna be gone. You could always go into your server browser and just post the IP of the server you're joining here and invite people to KF with you. Plenty of servers we could flood.

Well, i could try it. Thanks.
ConvictGaming runs nice servers if you're in the US.
Whenever I see Ghost from Call of Duty I always think that it's DJ Skully.

Dj Scully can survive a straight patriarch minigun burst to the face and walk it off.
Ghost dies with a single revolver bullet to the chest.

I like the idea that body armor doesn't actually deteriorate from damage, but instead you just diarrhea yourself when attacked and the number represents how soggy and stinky the armor has gotten (also, hi don)

Anyway, heading to the Killing Trail.
I am not on the killing trail. No sir.
I guess if they were to add more levels, you'd reach 7 pretty quickly
Can you still unlock Baddest Santa? If so, it looks like you'll still have to earn 10 of the old achievements (I've unlocked 7 old, 4 new, Ice Cave Normal).
Man, can we get some more music suggestions in here?

I tried this one on foundry, it's really up-beat but it works and I love it.

I'm surprised at how well most of the HL2 soundtrack works well with Killing Floor.

Here is the thread if you want the map
http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=42250
The server I used to play that map is long gone so if anybody have a new Ip care to share?
Anyone want to join me on The Killing Trail tonight for one last hurrah? I'd like to polish off a few more Christmas achievements to get Baddest Santa, and classes start up again tomorrow.
I'm looking to get going in about 30-60 minutes, reply to my post or hit me up on Steam if you're interested.

It is based on the UT2k4 engine. The game had a bunch of vehicles.
