Killing Floor V3 - Cholesterol Doesn't Kill People - I DO!
Wait what? The MP5 is one of the medic guns and it's not a crossbow.
He meant that the best gun in the game would be the crossbow, not the MP5M is a crossbow.
I find the Medic guns too imprecise for my play style. I'm always going for the headshots and generally, the MP5/7 doesn't do enough damage to headshot on the first round and because of the large recoil, you can't really do anything but spray and waste ammo. For an escape weapon, sure, it's good, but you'd be better off playing as a Commando or Specialist if you're going to play the spray style.
MP5M is mainly an upgrade to the MP7M which is just...plain fucking useless. It's just a little more firepower for a higher price which is always nice. Being able to kill some Clots faster when saving crossbow bolts is something to spend money on, right?
MP7m is just....puke, IMO.
[editline]7th January 2012[/editline]
Also, how is the map that the 32 slot server is playing on? kf_lighthouse? It's taking a bit to download
By the way, the MP5M charges faster than the MP7M. I think.
guys i just bought killing floor
-and now its installed-
woop

I always buy a MP7 and an MP5, because I like to heal folks when I play medic and when I run out of ammo for my MP5 I just switch to my MP7.
i had a weird bug trying to buy a magnum, was at 12/15 weight and it refused to purchase even when i had the money. the shop selection was lit up and everything
That is just an error in the Trader menu text. The single magnum weighs four blocks, just like the handcannon. Upgrading to dual magnums takes zero weight blocks, also just like the handcannon. Essentially, the weight system for the magnum was changed to be identical to the handcannon's.
By the way, the MP5M charges faster than the MP7M.
That is not correct. All healing items, including the syringe, recharge at the same rate. However, each healing item has its own individual charge. This means if you've shot both healing darts from the MP5M, you can immediately switch to the MP7M and fire off another two healing darts without having to wait for the MP5M to recharge. Hence, it's a good idea for a medic to have both medic guns since that effectively doubles your ranged healing rate.
very first try of the game.
ended up as lunch for a bunch of clots and a bloat. *facedesk*
after a while, i finally got the hang of it.
somewhat.
loaded up wyre and took the berserker.
slashing heads and bullying clots is great fun.
then fleshpound happened at wave 7.
damn.
The first time you play KF is hard, because is completely different from another games like CSS zombiemod or L4D. The first thing is that you dont have is a crosshair, you have to use the aimpoints of the weapon. And the perks. I remember how in the first days of KF (in the free weekend) i was a berserk with a m32 launcher XD
The main things you should know:
Aim to the head always, using the right button of the mouse (by default). Exploding the head of the specimens, apart of cancel their special feature, will kill them soon. Useful when you have to escape.
Heal your wounded mates with the syringe (5). You will heal them, and you will gain money. And you will help to your team survive.
Tell to the other players the type of enemies. If you see a Scrake (that laughing guy with a chainsaw), type in the chat "sc". If you see a FleshPound (a thing that have spiked maces and a yellow/red thing), type "fp".
Avoid the Scrakes and Fleshpounds. You will need more level and better weapons to kill them. And you cant kill them alone.
Stay close with the rest of the team. Alone no one of yourselves have an opportunity to survive (well, except the "typical" LV6 pro players that you will see).
When you see a Siren (that thing that looks like a woman, that screams), kill it at long distance, just when you spot her. Avoid attack her at close combat (unless if she didnt screamed yet).
Gorefast. Those naked things with a blade. Shoot to their head for make him stop running.
Be careful with the explosive weapons (grenade, grenade launchers). At close, it will blow you.
The pistol (9mm) is more useful that looks like. Use it against normal enemies.
Avoid use dual guns. You cant aim well with them.
Most of the weapons have an alternate fire mode (wheel-button of the mouse by default). It can change the rate of fire (semi or auto fire), stun (more power, but more slow, this is for the melee weapons), laser aimpoint, double fire...
Every perk has their own benefits. Choose wisely when you join a map or at the beginning of a round (if the map is in a open space, if there are many wounded players, if the specimens of the next round are stronger...).
You run more faster when you have the knife. Use it when you are escaping or are going to the trader.
The Fleshpound has weakness to explosives, the Scrakes can be defeated with a crossbow aiming to their head or with a katana of a good berserk.
If you resist until the final round (11/10 if is a long game), you will face the Patriarch. Is dangerous at all the zones (close and long combat). Be near of a door, pillar or a wall to cover when he uses the chaingun or the rockets. He is able to heal completely 3 times (he carry 3 syringes in one of their legs), so at maximum you will fight him 4 times. When he got invisible and run away, is because he is low of health. Hunt it him then to win. Pipe bombs and welded doors are a good way to defeat him.
If you have to go, "donate" your money (pressing b by default) and your weapons (press m to drop by default) to help the rest of players.
Each player adds more zeds (the alternative name of the specimens) to the round. If you are going to be afk, leave the game.
And the most important of all:
DONT BLOCK IN THE ENTRANCE OF THE TRADER. SERIOUSLY, NO.
Hope this help all the new players.
but dual 9mm with the sharpie is just a head grinder for the weaker ones.
and trying to go slash open 3 gorefasts, 5 clots, a stalker and 2 crawlers with a knife isnt such a good idea after all :v:
[editline]asd[/editline]
sharp shooter and zerker are now level 2
:toot:

Dual guns are bad for two things.
1) They dont add more damage.
2) They dont give you any extra ammo.
Try to avoid them most of the time, is way more easy to aim only with one gun but, if you practice alot you will use the ironsight less and less but still, try to avoid dual guns.
Urgh, keep dying on wave 10/11. Finally unlocked Baddest Santa though.

the magnum filled a nice role of being not as good as the handcannon but for lower weight so it'd fit into other lineups better
what's the fucking point of it now
well its cheaper, but not by much

I joined a server on round 9 :v:

Ah, we didn't even die on Ice Cave, just all the maps before and after. Took down the Patriarch before he could heal too, we surrounded him with shotgun death.

The point of it now is it's a .44 magnum. Can you think of anything more satisfying than blowing off a zombies head with a goddamn revolver all the while quoting Dirty Hairy?

The only thing more satisfying than that?
TWO BLOODY GREAT HANDFULLS

The knife is better against clots, and if you are skilled, gorefasts. Kill the crawlers at melee is always a bad idea.
I always get a machete and grind cash with it 'till wave 4. It works wonders on everything until the scrakes show up but by that time I have a katana or have found a fire axe. The rest of the cash goes to the more expensive perks. There's a lot of holes in this technique and Sirens are lame unless you can ambush them around corners but you can fund a lot of people or get someone who just joined decked out in all their favorite stuff real quick.
Demolitions and Supports will rejoice. Show the commando some love too, he keeps the crawlers away.

I never thought about the machete like that. Fire Axe is only 150 anyway, it's about as cheap as the machete. Why not get that and use it the entire game?
Have to admit, though, I love the Claymore too much. Over-the-top damage is my playstyle as Zerker and it's frigging amazing.

I love it when KF goes on sale :allears:
Got the game in the October sale; current perks:

Is this good, or should I be pushing more?
Uh, that's fucking amazing, considering that your skills are the same level as mine, and I've owned the game for 2 years at least.
