No more, I can't handle any more fake ARG's
This was just tweeted under the name "tribus" which means "three" in latin. https://twitter.com/#!/deduobusTRIBUS
I feel like this is probably fake. But who knows? Edit: Actually, I won't be surprised if it's fake.
G-man's lips, what looks to be the Borealis, schematics of something I can't recognize, schematics of another supposed Borealis, and the HL2 logo. I want to say fake, but Valve's done creepy shit before.
It's fake. Valve's last arg had new content that wasn't in portal 1. That video has old content from ep2.
The lambda gave it away.
I really do.. All these fake args are so depressing.

Reading this thread is going to be like drinking from a firehose once HL3 is announced.
Reading this thread is going to be like drinking from a firehose once HL3 is announced.
I wonder if water will still exist that far in the future.
I think if they don't announce anything at E3, we should legitimately "protest" like those two guys did in front of the office.
Occupy Valve Software
I can confirm it's fake. Those schematics you see in the video were revealed sometime during the Portal 2 ARG (I think, I can't remember.) They are in EP2's GCF files and always have been, FYI.
Still bothers me why the modern Aperture science logo is there, unless they put it there because Cave Johnson had it for the official company logo.. [editline]8th January 2012[/editline] And also GLaDoS wasn't around when the Borealis was in drafting stages or even when it shipped, maybe they'll retcon it?
[sp]advisors came from some distant shit planet that consisted of imperialistic style of government that later invaded earth blablabla and there is an opposing force(no pun intended) that hate the combine or some metacritic bullshit so they want gordon freeman[/sp] but thats my guess.
Where is Race X anyway
Where is Race X anyway
Lost in the realm of Non-Canon Valhalla.
Where is Race X anyway
Race X is non-canon. It was developed by Gearbox to create gameplay they knew how to create and could experiment while using the standard enemies as a base. I believe one of Valve's developers was incredibly touchy over them and said something like "I don't see how they fit at all into my thinking of the HL Universe" They did have quite a bit of back story to them. For example the Geneworm at the end was only the head. It apparently had a massive body and had it managed to get through would have recycled earth into raw materials effectively acting as a single planet harvesting factory. USCGC Healy was commissioned 15 November 1997. (Healy is the closest matching to the physical description of the new Borealis, Valve has also toured it and it's home base is in Seattle so it can assume it is based off that, however the schematics are actually those of a battleship.) The RC takes place somewhere in between 1999 to 200-

Before the ARG, did anybody else think that Portal's backstory was pretty empty?
Before the ARG, did anybody else think that Portal's backstory was pretty empty?
Before Portal 2 in general it was nothing more than "WE HAVE COMPETED AGAINST BLACK MESA FOREVER AND WE MADE GLADOS AND SHE GOT MAD AND HERE WE ARE"
Would you guys like to know a secret? I don't think you do because it's very shameful.
All I know is that no matter what, this game will be worth the wait. [editline]8th January 2012[/editline] And it can be assumed that ALL the Half-Life teams are concentrating on Episode 3, because I mean, they gotta do something for 4 years
Before the ARG, did anybody else think that Portal's backstory was pretty empty?
Ratman caves provided some information but not much, we didn't know much about Aperture only that GLaDoS is evil, they competed against Black Mesa for government funds and you seem to be the only one alive (even though ratman is still alive, wandering around the facility but you never encounter him)
oh no a fake ARG never seen one of those before!
Wait, since Counter Strike is getting an update, what if Day Of Defeat: Global Defensive is next.

I hope they keep the guns on the Borealis in EP3.
We should just wait for the CES 'til a random dude ask Gabe about Half-Life 3/Ep 3/Crowbar/massive VALVe trollage, etc... Even if I think the kind of answer we'll get will be like this :
Wait, since Counter Strike is getting an update, what if Day Of Defeat: Global Defensive is next.
half-life 2: deathmatch: episode 1 and the cycle starts again
Those are from EP2. I hope they keep the guns on the Borealis in EP3.
The schematics are of a battleship, not an icebreaker. To be precise it was a heavy cruiser called the USS Newport News. The QSL card on schematics is however originally that of the USCGC Polar Star.
