Also since Eli has a red stripe going through his name that must mean that this is after episode 2
the fact that breen is on that list sort of makes me think that he will swap sides.
maybe the combine betray him or something.

I'm truly sorry bro. Got hyped up and forgot to add you as the source.
sorry!

In the last texture there some letters that are faded. Here's what they read:
S6MU
Guess what the first result of a google search is?
a ship that resembles Borealis.
Remember the potato hunting?
This time, we need to find alpine sweat for jim

Oh wow it is also on that thread

Doesn't resemble the Borealis at all, that picture is of a cargo freighter, Borealis was a Ice Breaker.

This image reminds me of a picture of a whiteboard in the 'testing' room at Valve, probably inspired by it.
The wooden crate comments sounds more like a reference to Concerned... I think.
The wooden crate comments sounds more like a reference to Concerned... I think.
It's a reference to Valve, who sends us Man.Co crates.
Or because there were a lot of wooden crates in HL1(Black Mesa).

"I don't even know what this room is for. What were they thinking? "Hey, let's make a bottomless room with crates randomly hanging from the ceiling, with the only way to reach the other door being jumping from crate to crate!""
Somewhere in freeman's mind
Also something about the huge number of empty crates that are in the way for no reason
uh no none of the gearbox games are canon with valve games
Wrong.
Barney Calhoun is the Barney in both Blue Shift and HL2. Unless there were two Barneys with the same job, working in the same location, same section of the facility, who were friends with Gordon and both escaped Black Mesa, it is the same person.
Marc Laidlaw has confirmed that the destruction of the Black Mesa Research Facility at the end of Opposing Force is canon.
Gabe stated that Adrian Shephard might be reused in the future.
It is Canon unless stated otherwise, just like with everything else (Which even includes things Valve release)
I want adrian shephard back, Opposing force was nearly as good as HL1, I really loved how much you directly interacted with Gman
[editline]4th January 2012[/editline]
Fuck, I want adrian shephard to have his own second game in the HL2 universe

How was he better than Gordon or Barney though? They both survived the Black Mesa incident aswell.
Adrian didn't have any real personality (Just like Gordon), did he? I don't see why so many people want him back.

HL3 coming Autumn 2012.
Now apply Valve time and we get Spring 2017.
I remember pretending to be Adrian Shephard during lunchtime when I was like 9 or 10 or something. :v:
I also hope he returns some day.
Wrong.

don't just throw shit at me without any source jesus christ.
that first paragraph doesn't make any sense because my argument is that it ISNT CANON.
it's like a fanfiction.

Yeah man, Gordon has so much personality.
"..."
They also reference Blue Shift with the use the Xen teleportation relay (Mossman references it when you first reach BME)
[editline]4th January 2012[/editline]
Also I'm pretty sure Marc Laidlaw said he didn't consider the Barney from BS and the Barney from Hl2 to be the same character
Why they have the same last name is beyond me then.
Actually though, the opening on BS doesn't say his name is Barney, it just says "B. Calhoun"

I said has no real personality, and neither does Gordon. Not that Gordon has Personality.
As for the rest: One is from an E-mail from Gabe, http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?102898-Adrian-Shepherd-return&p=1823240#post1823240
Other is from the Marc-laidlaw Vault http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?114535-Marc-Laidlaw-Vault
And as for the part about Barneys name, my point was that they had the same name (Calhoun). If it's not canon, then you are saying some other person named Barney had the same job, worked in the same location, same section of the facility, was friends with Gordon and escaped Black Mesa. Why would Valve choose Calhoun if that was the name of the Blue shift Barney?

His name wasn't actually Barney though, all we know is his first initial is "B.", which is revealed during the opening tram ride.
Nowhere in BS does it say his name is Barney, as far as I remember.

It's not but it's Implied, considering all the Guards were Barneys (Although thats not their actual names)
The Vault post you listed to even said Marc doesn't consider those Barney's to be the same character.
hi, daniel, i won't be able to clear up much. It was a deliberate decision to have gearbox never call him barney in blue shift, only calhoun.

Gearbox took our barney and did their own best version, but i'm not sure that barney is the same barney i'm picturing when i picture valve's barney.
I like this line though

[sp]In all serious though, I seriously want to see blue shift and OP4 in hl2 badly.[/sp]
IMO though, I consider the two Barney's to be the same.
I take what Laidlaw said and I make up my own canon for the games, with Valve's 'Canon' coming with first priority.
The Vault post you listed to even said Marc doesn't consider those Barney's to be the same character.

Yes, but that is Marc Laidlaws opinion. He said he is not sure, not that it is not the same - basically, if it was them making it he would of done a few things differently.
He is called Barney in the instruction Manual. Unless something specifically changes it, it is the same person.
Holy shit does it matter.
Holy shit does it matter.
Yes it does.
nerd issues all up in here.
Holy shit does it matter.
Yes.
It's not like there's much else to talk about and it's a fairly interesting topic as far as I'm concerned.
6172010 looks like some kind a date - 6/17/2010, which is 17th June 2010. "June 17" is also crossed out. Can you connect this with anything? I don't recall any events from 17th June 2010.
Last day of E3 2011.
also September 19th Wednesday is in 2012.
