Just going to ask this here, instead of making a new thread. How exactly did the combine (or what) take over the earth in seven hours? All there machines, and basically 90% of there army of modified humans and there technology. When they came through the portal, what did they use to attack humans, and transform them? If they had no man hacks, city scanners, etc etc. Who transformed the very first human into a combine counterpart, Civil Protection or solider, whatever? Combine themselves had no humanoid figure to do anything.

Earth's forces were caught by surprise and even without manhacks and such, the Combine were way superior to us.

So it was never mentioned what/how the humans were captured? That's what I was confused on. I know the "combine" did. But not sure how, before there was any humanoid combine made.

The Aliens from Xen including the Vorts weakened Earth's Armies and when faced against the combine, they stood no chance. With that being said, the humans never had to be captured because they surrendered to the Combine, I've seen a newspaper in the game that said "Earth Surrenders to Combine" but I can't seem to find it now.

This proved to be an opportunity for the Combine to capture them easily.

I had completely given up hope on seeing anything about Half-Life anytime soon, but what has been found on the previous pages leads me to believe there might actually be something coming, a slight bit of hope has been ignited in my heart. I'm placing my bets on this year's E3 conference, hope I won't be let down like all the previous years, but to be fair - those were even quieter.

I don't see why so many people want him back.[/QUOTE] He defused the bomb at black mesa (Even though Gman was a prick and reactivated it) He fought through hundreds of trained assassins He fought a giant boss by himself, jumping from turret to turret He commanded people around He was one of the only ones to survive a helicopter crash after being attacked by aliens. If anything, he's on par with Gordon.

I am still cravin for more after all these years. And I can still wait some longer, no problem. But Valve's gotta realise that at some point, fans can get tired of waiting even longer and they'll just lose fans. Please dont go that far, Valve:tinfoil:

Just because you defeat someone doesn't mean they have nothing to offer. For example, Gordon can dominate hoards of Antlions, but their larvae are still useful (Not the best illustration, I know). Besides, the Combine don't just destroy other lifeforms. They enslave them.
